Yes, mostly. I still occasionally have bad days when things seem overwhelming, and I occasionally have moments when the anxiety gets the best of me (like earlier today when I freaked out over talking on the phone  ), but I am mostly recovered! The bad moments simply serve to remind me how bad ... |

I had a hysterical crying fit over filling in a form wrong after having to talk on the phone twice in 10 minutes.... how humiliating/embarrassing. To make it worse my mum is now worrying about my depression coming back and acting like I might kill myself any second *sigh*. |

I had my hair cut today. It looks great but the hair dresser spent the entire time interrogating me about my life. By the time she had finished I was so stressed I wanted to cry, definitely going back to my old (quiet) hair dresser next time! |

I hear a voice. I'm also dyslexic (diagnosed aged 7 and again when I started uni at 19) :) I actually have an above average reading speed. I have thought in the past that I could probably read faster if I didn't have that internal voice, as I can only mentally speak so fast. Also, when I have moment... |

I'm terrible at mental maths, and only ever learnt my 5 times table. When I was 9 my teacher discovered I didn't know any of the others and spent quite a bit of time trying to get me to remember them (as did my parents) but the attempt was a complete failure. In A level maths my teacher used to laug... |

I couldn't go anywhere without someone on the street saying "Cheer up!" . Story of my life. Apparently my 'content' expression is exactly the same as my 'I want to die' expression. 8O Somehow being told to "cheer up" was an awful lot more annoying when I actually was depressed than it is now that I... |

I'm really curious... what's the issue with Fox News? I'm guessing from the dialogue in this thread that it's not a news channel like the name suggests? (I apologise for invading this amusing American thread with my British ignorance :p ) |

I did Tae Kwon Do from age 7 to when I was 15. If your interested go for it! It's great fun, and good for fitness, strength, confidence and meeting new people. It should also help your balance. The only reason I stopped was because of social anxiety and depression. One thing to keep in mind (at leas... |

I'm waiting for an appointment to be diagnosed. I went to the GP last week to ask for a referral. He was really supportive and positive about it despite admitting he'd never referred an adult before, and as such he wasn't sure who to refer me to. Luckily I'd done my research and had even turned up w... |

You are not alone in this! I'm starting an MSc in a few weeks, and I'm terrified! New uni, new campus, new classes, new lecturers, new students, new support workers *shudder* the whole thing is incredibly stressful. When I was a teenager my parents said "it will get easier as you get older"... ha ye... |

Thanks for all the responses, it's great to hear about others experiences and reassuring to know that I'm not alone in this :D I pick up other people's mannerisms whom I like, inadvertently. This doesn't seem to be a problem to me. My ASD partner picks up a lot of mannerisms from people he spends a ... |

As Calstar2 said, schedules! I have an alarm that goes off at meal times, and I force myself to stop whatever I'm doing and eat at that time. For dinner the alarm is set for an hour before eating time so I have time to cook, and I prepare my lunch for the next day at the same time. If your not one f... |

Raleigh: "I've mimicked people for so long I'm not even sure who I am anymore" - I also feel a bit like this, since noticing this habit I spent ages trying to figure out what was my personality and what was other peoples. I eventually came to the conclusion that everyone is influenced by others to a... |
