Loud music will affect your hearing more than you realise. And I guess after a while you'll have just adjusted somewhat if you've been able to cope with loud places.

I'm well aware of this evolutionary thing, and according to Darwin's theory, it's just a matter of time before my gene pool will become extinct. How do I deal with that? I lower my standards to practically rock bottom. After all, girls want the best guy they can find. And with low standards, I will...

I have found that the few women on those 'dating' sites (i.e. Yahoo personals, "Match.com", etc.) who are actually my age and live near me mostly weigh far more than I do. I know that the US has a "weight problem", but this is absurd. And I do not expect to get a "hot girlfriend", but rather one wh...

Why would you want to alienate your family and a good number of your friends who--because of their religious beliefs and not in spite of them--would be more likely to stick with you and support you in a lot of matters that a non-religious person wouldn't? It's an in-built advantage, and his life wou...

I had to sit out the first few years of my first school's swimming classes because of an ear problem. I was literally just sitting there, alone, staring at the clock and the advertising boardings for the duration of the 1-2 hour lesson every week for 2 years.

It's bad, but I'd hardly consider it to be the worst thing to come about since the inception of Facebook.

That's just the way most girls are. You, as the man, are expected to make the laughs, to impress with your wit and knowledge, or if you are lacking in these things, to take her to whatever crappy film is out right now and pay for your laughs there. Most attractive girls are simply going to have no p...

I'm socially a complete failure, but I tend to enjoy humour and far more general culture than most other aspies, but still to an obsessive degree, so I appeal to neither NTs or aspies in that regard. I'm also painfully shy, self-aware and sensitive to criticism, so when people make fun of me it's of...

I don't have--or at least don't want to think that I have--ADHD, though; it's the sensitivity and inability to block out unwanted noise rather than that I can't stop thinking about other things.
