You should research it a bit more, you would learn that everything I've stated is not only scientifically possible, but also projected to occur within the next twenty years or so. Scientists have been saying this for decades however they have never actually looked at the data. If they did they woul...

No where in that article that you linked does it mention that disgust is more or less primitive than love. Also, I don't actively experience disgust very often if ever. I don't really feel anything at all. So you may be more inclined to say I have already jettisoned said emotion. Love is a word of ...

I like kids, and kids like me. That's why I'm God Father to a few of them and Uncle to others. I find it odd when people say they don't like kids.. like they really don't like kids. I just find myself thinking "wtf? someone raised you, someone was nice to you when you were a kid.. why be so cold an...

I would like to apologize to anyone I had offended earlier as I was in a very bad mood. I don't hate children, nor do I have a problem with those whom choose to reproduce. I love people and yes I do have feelings, just not when I'm pissed off, apparently. I'm also a touch confused as to how ...

I need to calm down right now and I can't do it. I don't know how really to describe it, but I just have a bad feeling for some reason that is not apparent to me. I have had many times in the past where I get like this, and every time I have no idea what the problem is. Is this anxiety? I've never ...

I dropped out of high school to gamble, and I was in the twelfth grade a the time. I had a 4.0 GPA up until tenth grade. I never cared about school beyond ninth, because I became addicted to video games and gambling.

There is no conflict; I've been this way since I was a small child and haven't changed since. There cannot exist an emotional conflict, or a conflict of interest as I don't have feelings. The need to understand my personality was simply a task I was undertaking to choose where my intellect would be...

3. It's OK to prefer to minimize your direct human contact and it is OK to have no plans to have kids. Those decisions are personal decisions that are no one else's business. 3. Yes, you're correct that it is not only okay, but it should be standard. 1. You do realize what would happen if no one ch...

You should consider jettisoning the emotion of 'disgust'. It is a primitive emotion- possibly more primitive than 'love'- and it keeps you shackled. http://www.webmd.com/news/20090226/moral-disgust-linked-to-primitive-emotion Morality has been widely considered to be a somewhat recent phenomenon, e...

Love disgusts me due to the fact that I see it as an aimless emotion that both slows progress down, and uses up to much brain power which could be devoted to logical thought. Emotions are primitive and have evolved over time with the neo-cortex, and humanity's hierarchical thinking. They have done ...

I understand what you're saying, I was describing something that doesn't physically exist. However what you're missing in this line of thought No, I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I was addressing olympiadis' mischaracterization of what you said, not what you actually said. Your line o...

I used the adjective "primitive", to exemplify the era I was referring to when discussing why emotions helped to produce modern society. So in reexamination my use of this term is not inherently meaningless. I didn't say the statement was inherently meaningless, I said it was meaningless for you to...

Are they truly facts, or just your opinion that you present as fact because you feel very strongly about it? I think technically he is correct in that emotions are not real things, - no substance. It is something I would classify as a system intelligence though because though not real, they can and...

I think technically he is correct in that emotions are not real things, - no substance. No substance as in not made of matter? I don't see that anyone in this thread but you has suggested that emotions are not real. If they weren't real, it would be meaningless to refer to them as "primitive" as th...
