I myself have found a niche as a specialist at figuring out people with disabilities. Most people over look a lot of what might be going on under the skin and since I naturally find it easy to read people with problems it was a great fit, not to mention I don't have to deal with people that judge ma... |

I can only be touched by my fiancé and my children. Anyone else and I cringe and pull away. Without you knowing it you learn their touch, no one has the exact same touch as another. |

Inclusion in the class room shouldn't be the child expected to do and deal with what's going on in the class room alone, but an aid or teacher giving the child extra help and direction when needed. Sadly most schools label then remove the children with special needs to a sub class room where they sa... |

Every ASD person is fighting this very same thing, I am sure if any of us new how to get over it we would. But honestly it runs my life, where I eat, what I eat, where I go what I do all revolves around how freaked out I will get or might get. |

I agree with btbnnyr as kids we are expected to not be able to handle things and as adults we learn little tricks to help manage the things we can't control. In truth however we just really learn to hide our stims better. Instead of flapping we rub hour hands together, instead of rocking we shift or... |

People will blame anything and anyone for the actions they do or don't do but they will never blame themselves. Just because they say I did this because of this doesn't mean its so, they are simply looking for a scape goat for their actions. Personal thoughts, I myself being the way I am ASD I find ... |

I find that I have a picture in my mind of the item I am looking for. Such as ham in a blue package and this is what I am scanning for. If it in a red package or any other colored anything I don't register it as what I am looking for. Sound the same? |

You hit the problem on the head. I am unable to take hobbies lightly, it is part of my "thing" to have to know everything about what I am going to be doing. I have tried the just do it approach and my brain and body just shuts down with anxiety. When not if the person I am with ask a quest... |

I have tried several times to learn what NT's like and learn to like them to, however the friendships never stick. Lets take kayaking for instance. A person I new bought a kayak and said " to bad you don't have one we could go out sometime" The next week I bought one after finding out ever... |

A relationship is a two way street, regardless if he is on the spectrum or not. If you both are not willing to work on issues there is no relationship. Now him understanding what he needs to do to make the relationship work because he is on the spectrum is definitely a problem. I myself a have ASD m... |

Since my NT friends relationships is non existence, not for lack of trying, I was wondering if there are any ASD peoples in Wisconsin that would like to meet up and do what they would like to do. I just read that and it sounds really odd, let me explain. As you know we tend to like and learn a certa... |
