I've found that I can be quite good at learning new languages. I also at some point learned how to write in a fictional writing system and noticed that I could easily remember the individual characters.

I think it's because of a lack of mutual understanding. They don't understand us and think they can say whatever they want and just go on insulting us; on the other hand we have grown up with movies, books and cartoons where most (if not all) characters are neurotypical. Usually if someone were to say to me something like "My handwriting isn't very neat" I tend to say "I don't care". Not in a rude way, but in a way that means "I don't mind either way if your handwriting is messy or neat, I can still read it" but they take it as me being rude.
