My father puts it quite well...he always said it is a 'silent syndrome.' The symptoms are hard to recognize, and depending on how severe you are on the spectrum, sometimes it can be hard to pick up. A lot of people I've tried to explain to about AS have often treated me with doubt since I'm high-fun...

Since I have found out about my Aspergers, I have noticed that I love thinking deeply, but I enjoy it so much that I seem to get over excited and will suddenly get up out of the chair and pace off into another room and wonder why I am there; before I knew about my differentness, I just used to thin...

It's generally uncomfortable to me, but the main two reasons I struggle with eye contact is because A. I can't keep focused on the one thing and B. I worry whether I'm making the right ammount of eye contact with a person. I'm not sure if other aspies would know the feeling, but I feel I concentrate...

That's why I don't usually mention it, because it means people are more likely to put me in a position where I am confronted with unpredictable conversations. I can rabbit on about autism online for ages, but when I am put on the spot and have to explain things in relation to *me*, I'm lost for wor...

I got 88. I know these tests are bogus, but I think the description it gave sums me up nicely. There's some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that your Emotional IQ is relatively low. In a practical sense, this means that you are not reaching your full potential. Low EIQ has a negative im...

What the teacher said was wrong. But don't go around telling people you are autistic because this is the bad treatment you will get because of it. One's diagnosis is often better kept quiet about as you will be discriminated against less. Why should i be quiet about it? Im an open minded person, i ...

I actually live in Queensland where Tony Attwood is based. I've been thinking of contacting him myself with questions regarding AS support services here in Brissie. At least I know he'll reply to an email if I end up sending him one 8)

I do this with practically everything...definately with music. I find myself usually listening to the same set of songs, if not a single song over and over again. I have one song on my Ipod I've been practically listening to non-stop for the past half year and it's got at least six times the play co...
