Thank you for bearing with it, somanyspoons, I know it's long, but it is very worthwhile information, IMO, and gaining insight into PDA that didn't previously exist.

This is the report of the preliminary results (the questionnaire is still taking responses and is currently at 429). The results seem to confirm that PDA is definitely an autistic spectrum condition with unique high scoring traits, of which having Jekyll and Hyde behaviour is by no means the only on...

I first heard of PDA last year and first heard of female pattern ASD 3 years ago (a traits list prompted me to seek my ASD dx, which I quite, I think, coolly got on Hallowe'en 2013). It has been a massive and fascinating ongoing journey of discovery for me :)

The ASD vs ADHD question is interesting. It is something we are looking at in this giant questionnaire (I appreciate your stamina and perseverance btw). According to FB Adult PDA group members, PDA is often misdiagnosed as ADHD (or ADD). I know i don't have ADHD because I have used amphetamines recr...

Thank you, ConceptuallyCurious, for doing the survey. Your input is valued. Apologies if you found it very long. Most people haven't minded its length. The original traits survey was even longer(!) It was decided to keep as many traits as we did in order to shine as much light onto PDA as possible, ...

Good question, Fern. This was a trait suggested by another member of the adult PDA group. It has remained in because it scored so highly in the initial, filtering questionnaire. I guess it's one of those things which exists for people with PDA without there being a definite cause? My avoidance, for ...

Hi Jo_B1_Kenobi, just the first questions are about demand avoidance. The rest aren't.Would you be prepared to have another go and just score yourself low, if that feels appropriate for demand avoidance. NonPDA autistic responses are badly needed (pretty please!)

It has, in fact, shown up that nonPDA autistic people experience demand avoidance, but to a lesser degree than PDAers. I still have no idea how strong my PDA drive actually is. I habitually think of myself as lazy, but I have managed to remove most demand conflicts from my life. I can't, for example...

Here are some of the graphs I've made from the preliminary results (@367 responses). Thank you, everyone for your participation. The survey is still open and would really benefit from more responses, specifically nonPDA autistic males (only 11 so far) and NT males (also only 11 so far), also, we cou...

I find it pretty much impossible to gauge any of my autistic traits comparatively to how other people experience things. I joined the Facebook Adult PDA Support group just over a year ago when I learned about PDA so I could understand it better. I have gotten on better with this group better than an...

New results are sill being logged. Within the last hour, there's been about 10 new respondents logged. They are anonymous, but I can look at individual responses. The last seven are: 203= nonPDA autistic male 204 = Unsure male 205 = Unsure male 206 = PDA female 207 = NT female 208 = no neurotype, fe...

Hello neilson_wheels, I know some people join Facebook purely to become the member of a group. I totally recommend the Adult PDA support group I a member of. It is a lovely, friendly group. I joined it just over a year ago, curious bout PDA and I have found the group very informative and supportive....

Hi UnfortunateAspie, LeagueGirl, everyone: there is F all out there on PDA and I suspect a huge number of people may have PDA and not realise. Just as girls with autism have slipped through the diagnostic net because: 1) they have a tendency to try to seem normal and, 2) many diagnosticians still ha...

Beakybird: this is currently not a diagnostic test; just a data gathering exercise. However, if you are interested and can remember what you scored for things, PM me and we might be able to work something out.

It means you pathologically avoid normal demands.
