Grael, you sound like an incredibly strong person to have survived all the stuff that you went through! It sounds like you're trying to sort out what you can in your life, and get on with it. As for writing the long story, I think that it's good for you to get this stuff off your chest, and before a... |

@krex: I liked your insights. I've wanted to commit suicide a few times, but my life has stabilized and it's slowly getting better at this time. Getting the right meds did help, if only to allow me to get out a little, mostly for volunteer work or to visit such friends as I have. I do think that a l... |

I had thought about suicide in the past, as I'm bipolar as well as Aspie. One interesting thing is that discovering that I'm Aspie has helped pull a lot of pieces together in my life; I no longer see myself as an unloveable misfit, but just as someone who's different, and possibly in some very good ... |

Could you guys please explain what "attitude" is?I may have sounded sarcastic in my response but I wasnt kidding about not understanding what this word means.I would like to understand it better so I can defend myself when accused of having a "bad" one(though maybe I DO and then I could concur with... |

Over the last couple of years, I've been developing an increasing degree of cynicism, as part of my process of getting more grounded in life. It seems that the cynicicism helps keep me from getting taken advantage of too easily. It can also lead to discoragement and inertia, but I was already dealin... |

Welcome to WP! I wouldn't worry too much about offending people; you will probably get a fair warning anyway if you get a bit out of line. Anyway, we're not a bunch of bullies here! |

Life can always have its ups and downs. By the time you reach your 50s like I have, you learn to roll with the punches and take what life hands you, as you realize that there's not really much else you can do. I will say that my childhood, especially my teen years, was pretty bad, but things got a l... |

I once dreamed of a strange invention of mine, a camera with pictures such that, whatever you did to the picture, happened to whoever was in the picture. Someone stole it, the police were trying to keep me out of sight, but the thief got my pic anyway, then cut it up... The dream concluded AFTER I w... |

I prefer things on the cool side, around 55-60 F. However, one of my best friends, who is also Aspie, freezes to death whenever it's below 70 F. |

Some people here in the USA, such as the Rev. Fred Phelps (he's the worst, but by no means the only one) are still convinced that "gayness" can be cured. As for AS, there are a fair number of decent NTs out there like AuPear (and a fair number of Aspie jerks), but a lot of NTs do seem to lack any re... |

Ideally any problem can be solved without violence. Realistically, this isn't the case. Violence should be the last choice, sometimes one simply runs out of options sooner rather than later. Yeah, I know, to this one could say "Then perhaps they hadn't thought long enough about alternatives." Maybe... |

Cigarettes have a MAO-B inhibitor plus nicotine. Which is why if you ever used nicotine replacement products you likely did not get the same pleasure from them as cigarettes. The anti-depressant effects from MAO-B inhibitors is not very high in my opinion. I used 10 mg deprenyl(a MAO-B inhibitor) d... |

When I was in 8th grade (13 yo in the American school system), I had a lot of trouble with a bully. The principal tried to help, but there wasn't much he could do; it simply wasn't possible for him to be everywhere, and he had limited options. What finally stopped it was the day that the bully start... |

Nothing wrong with being an oddball. :D I agree. Finding out you have AS doesn't change who you are, just gives you an idea why you are who you are. When I figured out I was Aspie, it pulled a lot of things together for me. It didn't change who I was, but it helped me to know myself better. However... |

Melody, I can definitely relate to the anger. It took me a LONG time to get past it, and I think that much of it was that I finally got burnt out on all the anger. There are many times I wanted to just get a loaded gun and start shooting people at random, saving the last bullet for myself. I really ... |

I appreciate the responses, really. But I'm not looking for answers on HOW to find love, I'm asking whether or not it's worth it to endure everything until I do. I can't just stop searching, anymore than I can become neuro-typical. This has been the single most driving force in my life and the only... |
