Despite my Aspergers, I find that I've gotten the art of a first impression down pat these days after many years of trial an error. But then I have to watch it all unravel from there. Once we reach our intended post-courting destination, how are we supposed to navigate a lifetime of more of the same? |

I accept the label because I accept what I am and what I am is an Aspergian. Also, when I was first diagnosed and had how it works explained to me, it was a very welcome word because after years of wondering what my problem was I finally had an explanation (and the revelation that it's not a "proble... |

I sometimes find when I need to have an important conversation with someone, I prefer to use text message (even if they're in the same room) because it's easier not to get lost in the countless little distractions that can slip me up in a face to face conversation.
Anyone else have similar issues? |

Looks like you're in a much better boat than a lot of people around here. Maybe start appreciating what you have and embracing it for what it is. What more could you bloody want? You already have more than almost everyone here. As long as you complicate yourself, you will not be understood. No kidd... |

Trust me guys, just because I have an obsession (music) that allows me to be around people, doesn't make it any easier. I put up with enough prejudice from NT people who don't understand me, I don't need it from the people who possibly could. In fact if anything, I'm more consistently reminded of my... |

The problem is that I'm very social. I'm a musician. I meet people all the time and have lots of "close" friends. But they don't understand me and I don't think that they ever will. I even have a girlfriend, but she doesn't have the slightest clue what she's in store for. I'm alone. Always have been... |

? I can't figure it out (how to deal with it). No-one gets me. Some people think they do, but they have no idea. I've got friends that I've had for years who don't know a god damn thing about me that matters. They couldn't understand if they tried. I have absolutely no-one to talk to. It's really st... |

Is the 15th decided?
I think I could do that. |

She likes me, I like her, stuff has happened (only once) and now she's not sure what to do. I know what she should do, she should stick with her boyfriend, but I REALLY don't want that. I'm not even sure I need any kind of advice, I know what the right thing to do is here, but it really doesn't FEEL... |

So I'm sitting in New Farm park near the ferry terminal but I don't see anybody!
Did I mention that I'm really bad with faces?
Really should have grabbed someones number.

If someone doesn't just say it I'll never be sure. Even if someone say they like me directly I'll be thinking "like or like-like?" I am only just to the point where I can accept myself as I am. Self confidence in love and dating is an alien concept to me. So I don't bother. I stay at home. Yeah I k... |

My friends always choose to tell me AFTER the fact that a girl was interested in me, it's really annoying!! How do you tell when a girl likes you? It actually got to the point the other night where a girl I'd been talking to all night just came up and kissed me before she left and told me I should p... |

Yeah, I often find the people I know who are most affected by my aspergers are the people who don't think I have it.
They're in denial, yet consistently puzzled and annoyed by my behaviour. |

I hope so!
I've never met anyone else like me before.
Aside from my little sister, but she's 8. |

Well it was followed by "don't believe everything doctors tell you", so I assume it means he doesn't think I have aspergers. |
