A long time ago, someone pointed out to my whole class that I silently repeat everything I say. Since then, I've tried to keep it in my head, and it seems that a more productive strategy is to plan out the next thing I'm going to say. |

Supposedly I started to talk when I was two. I started reading fluently at two and a half, which I find interesting not just because it was early but because it seems to coincide with the talking. I believe I have some sort of auditory processing issue, and that spoken words didn't make sense to me ... |

I teach a class of 6th grade girls. Quite possibly the worst thing I could teach, because they're at a very needy age. Younger children are still babyish enough that I can talk to them like little kids and treat them that way, and older teens have figured some stuff out. But these girls have so much... |

Ugh...the nauseous/nauseating thing annoys me to no end. I feel like screaming when my in-laws say it. I hate it when people use apostrophes to pluralize a word. I ask them, "Would you say it's raining dog's and cat's?" and they usually say yes. Also when adjectives and adverbs are confused. "I did ... |

I act somewhat NT outside of the home, but I often wonder what people make of my slip-ups. I rely heavily on memorized scripts, so when someone veers off the script I'm totally thrown for a loop and end up saying something awkward. I actually did better during my HS and college years, when I had lea... |

Can't touch water or anything that would make any part of my body wet. Yes, I do shower and wash and keep up with hygiene pretty well, but I can't really bear to feel wetness other than standing in a hot shower with my back to the shower head. Because of all this, I can't stand going to the gym beca... |

The post about the cat reminds me that I love it when I'm kneeling on the floor to get or clean something, and my puppy lies down on the backs of my legs. |

My love of letters combined with my emphasis on the visual has led me to a love of typefaces/fonts. So letters as art. It breaks my heart when certain fonts are used, like that Microsoft cartoon font! There is nothing cute about that! One of the easiest ways to make me mad is when my students turn i... |

I used to sleep with the heaviest down comforters, even in the summer with no a/c on. My parents thought I was nuts. Now I use a lap desk for my computer--you know, the ones with the cushion on the bottom and the flat top. I LOVE the way it feels! It spreads out the weight from the computer and warm... |

I am gluten intolerant, and removing gluten from my diet has made me feel so much better. I couldn't make any claims related to AS, but I am finally not getting sick from my food all the time. It has also helped tremendously with my migraines, whereas all the medications I've tried haven't. I can al... |

If you want to tell AS men to have a little more confidence in themselves, a different approach would be better. I'm an aspie female, and aspie men have had the best luck with me by being my friend first and then becoming more than that. Now I'm married to one. You should probably read the OP. Um, ... |

You're generally not allowed to talk at a library, right? Unless you're at a library like the ones my college had, which were set up to be a social spot. So you could meet them, just not talk to them. |

Here's another example: Something stressful happened to him at work. I said, "Awww honey, I wish I could give you a hug. I know it won't make things better, but it might just lower your BP. Know that I'm here if you want to scream, complain..whatever. I'm here and that's what girlfriends are for!" ... |

My husband is and was really good with money from a young age. I think part of it stems from the rush of power that comes with having money, but part of it is being very good with numbers and calculations. As a teenager he figured out how to obtain products in bulk to sell at a flea market, and made... |
