Studies "think" as much as 3/4 of people on the autism spectrum also have an intellectual disability ( a term that replaced mentally r$#@!%$#d). But I think that number is A LOT LOWER because many people with an autism spectrum even if they are moderate to low functioning have normal to a...

I hate to say this but accents have particular connotations about them which sucks. There is something about those twangy tight "type" southern accents that just sound a little dumb and racist (?) that makes it difficult to appreciate the persons intelligence. But of course this isn't true...

He seemed really "simple" in an interview I saw of his before his death. I think he was just a simple minded guy with a fondness of hunting which he later channeled into "sniping". Not evil, by no means a hero but still an asset at the time.

Some Americans that have come up to visit and live in Canada have been some of the nastiest SOB's I have ever encountered. Just persistent rudeness, condescension and insults out of nowhere - not towards "me" but towards how we run our country. I have no idea where this actually comes from...

I have aspergers, which is not really relevant to this conversation, but my friend has a son who's about to turn 5 years old and he is at an as yet undetermined location on the autism spectrum. He does not have what could be called "useful speech". He has the vocabulary and sentence const...

Obviously this would not be applied to almost anyone here but I do know that the percentage of Autistics with MR is indeed sizeable. Excluding the higher end of autism how many people on the spectrum have a mental disability? I have heard that we are actually the minority and that the largest majori...

https://soundcloud.com/maxxie899/aspergers-voice What do you think? (I read from an article about autism and the voice lol). Do I have an Asperger's sounding voice? I did a post about how autism affects the voice so I decided to upload my own for demonstration. Why don't you all try the same? You c...

You sound pretty normal to me. I stumble over words a lot, too, although I think most of my current reading-out-loud problems are because I'm not getting enough sleep. A lot of my (presumably) NT classmates stumble over words, too. Never been a good "out loud" reader. I can read perfectly...

It happened with mine. I sound pretty "normal" at this point.

Sort of. Depends in my mood. I can definitely " pass" sometimes more than others

Oddly the most dangerous cities in Canada are also the "whitest" I notice. There is an underclass of whites here that are stirring up trouble. It's funny how most of the non white immigrants here are industrious workers with generally crime free areas while whites are creating their own gh...

Did you not see the article posted in the forums today about the genetic testing that speculate that there may be 100's if not thousands of different types of Autism? Maybe the gut dysbiosis theory is only applicable to certain kinds of Autism

I think my voice has gotten a little "better" over the years and a little more NT but I still think I sound a little aspie IMO. It used to be entirely robotic lol
