I was fascinated to read once that some suspect, that you guessed it........Adolf Hitler had autistic traits which if true would make him potentialy the most famous aspie. I dont know if its true or not I just thought it was curious. |

there is interesting old footage of him pacing alot, there is footage from the Munich olympic games where he is pacing severely. It was before his parkinson's set in, it looks pretty autistic. His ranting speeches almost seemed to have an obsessive autistic quality to them. he was a great speaker bu... |

Just curious how many of you there are, and I'm curious to see if any of you have found any good groups for Aspies. |

That link is basically useless for adult aspies in Vermont, sadly. All the adult groups seem to be in places like RI. |

Im to lazy to read all 5 pages of what was posted. But I will say Hitler's psychological profile says he was suffering from Oedipus complex and Messianic complex. NOT AUTISM. The old psycological reports were made long before AS was remotely well known. "Oedipus complex and Messianic complex" sound... |

people seem convinced that Aspies can't be powerful communicators. I think its easily possible for an Aspie to have bad personal relationships but at the same time they could be charasmatic, powerful public speakers. Hitler seemed to enjoy a quiet solitary private life, while at the same time he lov... |

NPD is in some ways similar to AS. So its possible he may or may not have had AS. Other dictators do not seem to manifest signs of AS, however if you had to pick one who could have had AS Hitler might qualify. |

I don't believe Hitler was autistic or had AS but I do believe that Reichsfuhrer Heinreich Himmler was an aspie. From what I read, he had all the characteristics. He spoke in a very monotone voice and in a very pedantic manner. If you look at pictures of him, he often has a blank or weird look on h... |

Its a fascinating topic, that deserves a look. some experts have discribed Hitler with Aspie features. heres just a few to consider: 1. his painting rarely featured people. 2. His lack of normal close relationships. 3. theres film footage of him pacing back and forth, an autistic feature. (long befo... |
