Thanks for all of the encouragement and advice. I guess it's just the prospect that I might be getting better since seeking help that's bothering me. It would be okay, like I said, if I trusted that I was actually getting better and had proof that I could do things like find and hold down a decent-p...

I know people say you can't lose autism, and you can rarely lose the diagnosis, but that has done nothing to calm my mind. I keep going back to how horrifying it would be to have found something that explains my mind and way of thinking just to learn that's not really what it is. Unfortunately, I fe...

Who and what are surrounded by can affect a lot how autistic you feel. It is possible to lose an autism diagnosis . How that is done for adults I don’t know. Yes, I spoke to my counselor about that, too. He said it happens primarily with children. I guess it's not so much fear of losing my diagnosi...

I was diagnosed as an adult, and sometimes I feel really good, don't fail obviously when interacting with people, don't feel socially awkward, etc., and it's during these times that I question whether I'm autistic or misdiagnosed. I've spoken to a counselor about this, and he said there was no chanc...

This is probably the third year in a row I've failed to create a full work for NaNoWriMo, and I'd like to fix this. I just can't outline, though. I'm a "discovery writer," so it's normal for me to draft as I plan. This is okay for shorter works, but I find that with longer works, I usually...

Did a quick Google of "mental illness dating site" and came up with No Longer Lonely.

Here's an interview with the site's creator.

This kind of sounds perfect. I should have looked online before asking this question.

Depends on what exactly you seek from a relationship, but I would advise against dating people who self-identify as mentally ill. (It's harder to identify those who don't, until you start dating them.) But yeah, dating mentally ill is not advisable. No to mention it can have ethical problems. Well,...

I'm about 100 miles from San Antonio. I guess I could go there every week if I really needed to, but gas prices are high right now.

Aren't there plenty of organized fandoms out there? Look online for groups of fans of the characters you mentioned. (Meetup.com might be one place to look. Or just Google "James Bond fan club" and similar phrases.) Some of the larger fan clubs will likely hold parties -- or even conventio...

My goal is to have a job and be married by next year Good for you, but be careful. I've seen too many marriages go sour when one person's outlook changes or when they otherwise find out that the person they thought they married wasn't that way at all. For example, the fun-loving spouse is actually ...

If your a woman interested in a relationship with a man & you live in a bigger city or are willing & able to relocate after doing the long-distance thing for a bit, you might have better luck than a guy like me living in a somewhat rural area. I live in a rural area, too, and I like it here...

Because of this, I feel like an outcast of society even though it's like I said this is a coping mechanism for not having a real partner It doesn't help that my expectations are ridiculously high, for some reason. I'm the kind of person who was picked on mercilessly in high school and throughout my...

So you're a horror writer/enthusiast? Do you try to write everyday? Do you take sabbaticals? I think that involving yourself in something extreme like horror every day would wear on you, even if you enjoy it. I like the film 'saving private ryan' but its harrowing, so if i watched it once a week i'...

Yeah it's obviously impossible to have a "romantic relationship" with a fictional character but it's fun to dream about and fantasize about I can't help it. I fantasize anyway. Most of my "dream dates" are human-looking, though. I could imagine them translated into the real worl...
