I have just started sixth form college and I am hating it. I feel so lost all the time, its so different and scary and I hate being in a classroom. I have Aspergers and I don't know how to express what I'm feeling and I don't even know what I'm feeling most of the time. I'm having 2-3 meltdowns a da...

Ask if your psychiatrist has any experience with diagnosing ASD but especially in girls. What you described definitely is accurate of AS as you seem to have the sameish traits as me and I was diagnosed a few month ago. I would suggest going to see a different psychiatrist or a psychologist that has ...

I can only do cotton tops/shirts/shorts and denim jeans in the winter due to sensory issues. I find all other materials uncomfortable and prickly. I can only wear denim on my legs, can't stand wearing denim on my top half. I usually just wear clothes I like but I always wear a t-shirt with a soft co...

Since I've been diagnosed I've almost felt myself becoming more autistic. Has anyone else experienced this, does anyone's autism go through phases of being more pronounced?

From what I have read female and male asd meltdown differ greatly. Males tend to get angry outbursts which are much more physical and sometimes violent. Whereas females tend to internalise their overwhelming emotions and are more prone to crying outbursts. I get these types of meltdowns when I've ha...

Did anyone see the film X+Y with Asa Butterfield in? It was released this year and is a great storyline about a teenage boy with Asperger's going through the struggles of life and finding love when you have asd. I would highly recommend it! It comes out on DVD in July

I disagree that stimming is always involuntary as I am, have read about, and know of many people who stim voluntarily when feeling understimulated (or as I say 'not quite right') this is in the form of spinning, on a desk chair or just standing and spinning, for me. After I have done this I feel bac...

Is it weird or normal that I have no problem making eye contact with people I'm comfortable with but cannot bare eye contact with people I don't really know that well?
