So easy to condemn people! If opiates are not for you, then you are lucky, they do nothing for me either. But for some it is a different matter. I have heard it described as the best hug ever. He recently died in its embrace. Did he deserve it? Maybe he even desired not to come back. Life can loose ... |

I don't know if this is propioception, but I do lose all sense of my body-self when I'm on the computer, especially if it's something I'm engrossed in like typing this response or watching videos, or playing video games. It's kind of a problem because I know now that it's the opposite direction you... |

The avatar is a picture of our Akita. If you don't know akita dogs, let me say best breed I know of! I used to have cats as I just love their independence, grace, and aloofness. An Akita is a dog with exactly those traits. They are more like a cat in a dog body I think - the most beautiful companion... |

What if truth can't be transmitted through words? What if religions are only the fingers pointing to the moon (to borrow Bruce lee's expression)? Wouldn't that make us look pretty stupid arguing about words and dismissing the intend? |

Hi Tawaki, I am in very much the same circumstances, or should I say my partner is. My "meltdowns" have no physical aspect to them however they still cause much injury. For me it is a bottling up effect. I don't feel that my needs are being met or that I am being coerced into something I d... |

Thank you for bringing up this article. In full agreement with all comments and thanks for pointing out the methodological issues! The author seems to have very clear assumptions from the start: "Anecdotal and clinical reports consistently underscore serious adverse effects on the physical and ... |

I do not think that I overuse phrases. I try to choose the best terminology given the circumstances of the conversation and rarely, if ever resort to off the shelf statements. Having a PhD in science and English as a second language makes this socially acceptable for me. |

Hi Sly, I think I know where you're coming from, but on the one hand you say you have everything you want yet what you need most, to be accepted by a woman isn't something you seem prepared to work for? You have to ask yourself what she would be getting out of the relationship to accept you as her p... |

Why sad? The only reason I'm not doing exactly that is that I have no clue what I could do to maximize my chances, which seem to be zero no matter what I do. How to maximise your chances? Well as my Balinese friend used to say very succinctly: No money no Honey Which is exactly why it is sad in my ... |

Strong is normal I would say, strong enough that many men base their choice of career, clothes, car, behaviour, and just about everything else on enhancing their perceived chances at getting it! Sad really, but such is the design specification for males in most species. I have known men, who couldn'... |

The very act of observation alters reality. Very interesting and quite possibly underestimated in how we manage not only our minds but also society at large. Change occurs naturally when the phenomenon is being observed. Reality is fascinating. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observer_effect |

Everything we see is projected on the retina upside down as the eye is a single lense. Therefore our brain constantly reverses the image for us to perceive it the 'right' way up. When you are watching upside down, the brain will drop the reversal saving you some processing. I wonder if you notice th... |

I would be interested to know how you all feel about alcohol.
I don't mind a glass of wine, a beer or liqueur, but I just hate the effect of alcohol on my brain. It makes me feel very uncomfortable and out of control. I was wondering if that is an Aspie thing? |

I am afraid to date because I don't think I can satisfy a woman sexually I don't believe that any man can satisfy a woman sexually, I think that is a male myth. I have always had a strong sex drive and it certainly hasn't helped my relationships. In my experience women are far more focused on being... |
