I love being touched or hugged. The only exception is when I dislike the person in question, or when they put me off for some reason. A gentle touch makes me feel closer to the other person; it makes me feel better about myself and it diminishes (social) anxiety. Of course it matters what kind of to...

As a little girl I was somewhat shy and socially anxious, but also quite geeky and a bit tomboyish - if ...

Er zit kennelijk ook wat overlap tussen die twee. Ik heb alleen nog geen flauw idee wat ik met die wetenschap aanmoet....

Right. I did the test. The outcome is that I've got PDD-NOS in terms of DSM-4, which is still used where I went. I suppose that it will eventually be just "some degree of a certain type of autism" under DSM-5 - which makes me wonder whatever happened to the good old scientific zeal to beco...

Luggaplurk: When somebody gets drunk (plurk), and then you have to luggaplurk, home (IOW, lug a drunk, home) :) It's funny how people arrive at a word! I had made it up with the stem _lugga-_ in mind (referring to luggage) while 'plurk' refers to uncouth behaviour: while you pointed at "drunk&...

Hey, this was also played on addforums years ago. I still find it the most fun game I ever played because it so easily triggers a creative hyperfocus :) Sometimes I conjure up and describe a few myself and put them on Facebook .. but it's more fun to play with others. Dear all, I registered because I want to know more about autism. Not so much the facts about it, or the diagnostic criteria or whatever, but the feel of it. In two or three months I'll finally be evaluated for autism. I've felt very ambivalent about doing that. About half the characteristics that I ...
