It sounds like the problem isn't *his* perception of your autism, but *your* perception of it.

I have this problem too. Sometimes I can't tell when they are just being nice, or really want to be around me. I've learned that if they are an adult, and they invite me somewhere, they probably want me around. It's different for kids because parents can be like "why don't you be nice and invit...

Would she enjoy helping you care for your parents? It could be a bonding experience.

Or, a long-distance relationship with someone else might be better for your life right now.

Good luck, sounds like a sucky situation.

I feel you, that sounds exhausting

YES bring a list. I saw a psychiatrist a while ago for this and did not.

Make the list very well-organized. Put your "most autistic" tendencies at the top and write an anecdote to back each one up.

I didn't do that and wish I did.

I don't remember ever not.

When I was younger, i was maybe more focused on what was happening (rather than thoughts) because it was new. But after the novelty wears off, back to the rushing thoughts

(commenting on the article) I fit very well into that mold, haha. I know other women, and some men, who do as well. It seems that people who have tendencies that, for whatever reason, are coded as "feminine" can have this happen to them. The actual gender of the person only matters because...

Yes the traits are very Asperger, especially female Asperger. Have you or your daughter read Aspergirls by Rudy Simone? If you haven't, it's pretty cathartic. "But she also said Aspergers people can't detect sarcasm and peoples expressions and are more tactless than others whereas my daughter s...

When I was 16 or so I was like "whatever boys are way better, they like video games, and they don't care about stupid stuff like makeup and hair and clothes." Which is funny bc I cared about those things. Then my mind was blown when I met a girl who talked girly and liked hair and makeup a...

HAHAHA me too, I'm a chameleon. I've been trying to focus on nice body sensations instead of thoughts. Of course this doesn't always work, but when sex is really good, it's when I'm able to just feel stuff wordlessly. What helps me a lot is exercise. During exercise I focus on what my body feels lik...

Oh, and he referred me to a person who does testing. My mental health insurance doesn't cover it, of course, (f**k Value Options) but I think I will do it because I want as many opinions as possible.

Ok I went today. There is no verdict yet, but the psychiatrist said he doesn't think I'm autistic, but very similar. (lol wut?) a couple thoughts about that: 1. I am a VERY good performer in like all aspects of the word. I can make people think I am a totally different person than I am. I can fake l...

I have one. It was totally rad for my first few periods, then I found I couldn't figure out how to wear it without pain/pushing on my bladder. And it would leak almost every day! As i'm sure you can tell, diva cup leaks are quite serious. After the 3rd or so leak I just gave up. bleh! Maybe this is ...

UGGHH missed it. Thanks.

I wouldn't say its humor is japanese-style, but it's ridiculous in the same ways that Earthbound is. Think moonside.

The battle system is really similar.
