I’ve been working on the register at a fast food restaurant for the last 3 weeks. I have been short many times and my boss told me he only hasn’t written me up out of mercy. He said one more time and it is a write up. I believe my problems working stem from working memory issues/executive function. ...

Do you ever feel like less of an Aspie when you watch movies/Tv shows that depict people with Autism? Almost ever depiction of it I have seen is way more severe than I am. It makes me feel like I'm faking it or something.

It’s easy to cherry pick crazies, but no serious feminists has said women aren’t oppressed in Muslim countries. I don’t think they care what religion you are either; it’s about women. They talk about Muslims a lot because they are uniquely discriminated against in the US.

I’ve been working at one for a little less than 2 weeks now. My manager gets at me for being “forgetful” and I do struggle with a lot of the small details. I have to be told exactly what to do step by step to understand. I just can’t infer. So far I’ve just done the register in the front. I’m fairly...

I read a couple studies about ASD and independent living and it doesn’t look good. Only about 25% of young adults with ASD manage to live independently. 50% had never worked for pay. Does anyone here live independently? If so, how is it? What struggles do you face? Personally, the thought of never l...

You would hope so LOL Fast food bosses/managers are not especially known for being tolerant and calm people. Fast food tends to be hard for Aspie/Autistics because these managers/bosses think that their employees should have "common sense" enough not to ask questions. But who knows? Maybe...

I’ve been working for 38 years. I’m more a “semi-recovered classic autist” than an Aspie. You might be doing better than you think you’re doing. If you weren’t, you would have gotten fired by now. When I was 17, I lasted one day in a bagel shop. I knew my destiny didn’t involve fast food. What happ...

A week ago I got a job at a fast food restaurant. I think I'm doing okay, but it is very hard. It's hard because of my working memoryand my inability to infer. Every single step of everything has to be specifically explained to me or I will not know to do it. Do you guys work? If so, what helps you...

There is some merit to that but anti depressants have pretty well documented efficacy. I would be reticent to denounce them. No question of denouncing them, just that they should not be the only option, and certainly not the first or long term. People seem to be jumping right into drugs and staying...

Do you take antidepressants? I have to take 30 mg of lexapro and I'll probably need to bump it up to 40 soon. Maybe it could help. Yeah. 450mg of Wellbutrin and Lithium Lithium? Do you ever have manic episodes? I only ask because I was misdiagnosed with manic depression and it was only a setback. N...

This may be an unpopular opinion, but white identity politics as seen by Donald Trump's base is the most toxic type of identity politics. While many people on the left take identity politics too far, their claims about race are usually merit based.

Yeah. 450mg of Wellbutrin and Lithium

Did they work for you?

I don't think so. My doc has talked about trying to add Adderall next.

Honestly, the entire anti sjw movement is toxic. No, you’re not an sjw for having conditions. And yes, the whole "you’re not allowed to have problems" thing the internet propagates has made me feel ashamed.

Wow, why is everyone immediately jumping to telling a teenager to take psych drugs??? Perhaps they live in a country where antidepressants are frequently advertised on TV. Makes them used to the idea that drugs are the first resort. I got put on psych drugs when I was a teenager and they seriously ...
