I'm in desperate need of help. I need to start looking after myself but have a poor record of liking myself let alone caring for myself properly. Anyone else suffer from autistic inertia? And if so do you also suffer muscle pain/stiffness? Any tips on what you do to overcome this? |

I also move my legs to stop annoying pain. It may have something to do with muscle tension and maybe related to why kids walk on their toes. The binding maybe a pressure thing like Temple Grandins cattle press that calmed her. You can get weighted blankets/doonas that may help. I'm certainly looking... |

So you are also talking about coffee and tea as well then? Coca Cola, coffee and tea have no effect on me. It's exactly the same as drinking water. I can have a few cups of coffee in the evening and still fall asleep too early. I seem to be insensitive to drugs in general. But I don't think drug se... |

coke is bad for everyone, as is all soda. I'm more concerned with the caffeine effect, I assume thats the only thing that makes Coke and cola drinks unique. I know there is a crap load of sugar and acid in all sodas that can affect digestion and blood sugar. i have no problem with caffeine. i drink... |

I wouldn't think Coca Cola would be any worse for an average ASD human being than an average non-ASD person. Maybe the flexibility/low muscle tone side is a big advantage for more precise movements/touch rather than clunky stiff movements. The hyper focus or ability to block out/ignore pain can help with endurance and determination. The low muscle tone and lack of co-ordination could be a disadvantage but ... |
