what mostly bothers me is the lighting. Agreed. The bright, harsh, fluorescent lighting burns a hole in my brain! AGGHHH! And like others have said, the sounds of everything there just compounds the discomfort. Whenever I shop there I go as fast as possible so that I can get out. If I had my own ca... |

I also understand in "concepts". I find putting stuff I know into words verbally or on paper difficult. I spend a lot of time practicing putting my conceptual thoughts into words so I can communicate them coherently. It's not easy. I get what you mean about having a concept of a dog. I find it diff... |

I too think largely in concepts. With a bit of imagery mixed in. But I have to force it. It is extremely frustrating not being able to translate whats going on in my head into language so that I can speak/type it so that others can understand. And often the words that come out don't adequately or ac... |

@Kahnza: When you might some day get to this point ... For most normal folks, drinking means conviviality, companionship and colorful imagination. It means release from care, boredom and worry. It is joyous intimacy with friends and a feeling that life is good. But not so with us in those last days... |

I am addicted to alcohol. It cures my boredom. Its an easy fix to a difficult situation. But it brings on addiction and actually complicates the situation. I don't drink to be social, although it does help when interacting with other people. It makes me feel good about myself and my current situatio... |

I'm a functional alcoholic. Unfortunately, nothing seems to take the edge off of another ruined and frustrating day better than a few beers and/or a few glasses of wine. Alcoholism runs in my family, and I'm headed down the same path; self-medicating the complications of Asperger's Syndrome. *sip* ... |

I have a hard time handling people when straight/sober. But if I've had a few or more, I become a lot more sociable. I find it a lot easier to talk to people. Thoughts flow more easily, and my brain seems to be able to process those thoughts into speech better. |

I have the same problem. I try to hold on to what I want to say until they are done talking. But sometimes they keep going on and on and change the subject. Then I feel that I can't interject with what I wanted to say because then it would seem inappropriate. |

The only things I wear are a 12ga partial hoop with rounded ends in my left ear, and a set of military spec dog tags. |

I talk to myself all the time. But I suppress it around other people. It helps me to concentrate and organize my thoughts. Otherwise its just a big jumble in my head. Its interesting reading HOW other people talk to themselves. Personally, I talk to myself like I am having a conversation with someon... |

That requires social skills.
I hate the environment. WAY too loud. Can't understand half of what people say. And its mostly just a bunch of superficial drunks. |

25 year old virgin here. Its severely depressing. I've never been in a relationship. Never felt love. Most of the time it doesn't bother me much. Other times all I feel like doing is sobbing into my pillow until I fall asleep. I think I crave the physical act of sex more than a relationship. Because... |
