You should, it's one of the most influential novels of the 20th century, the first ever instance of the alien invasion story.

Yes, I really like the Jeff Wayne musical, although I've never heard it in its entireity. When I was 4 I read the HG Wells novel (the first one I ever read). My dad worked in radio, so he made a cassette copy of the album, although he couldn't fit it all on, so it wasn't all there. With the 2 re-rel...

NZ band Stawpeople did a cover of The Cars "Drive" with a female singer that I always liked. Sad and beautiful.

Yes, I've got a good internal clock as well. I've been a shift worker for over 7 years, so I kinda assumed that was what caused it, rather than AS. If I'm working a day shift, I'm up at 4am. I set my alarm clock just to be safe, but seldom need it. When I do night shifts, I'm in bed around 2am. Trou...

The last woman I was infatuated with lives on the other side of the world, but she has the same name as the city I live in, so everywhere I go I'm reminded of her. you had a girlfriend named Hobart?? Merle I'm hoping that's the last name. 1. She wasn't my girlfriend. That's kinda the whole point of...

LOL. At first I read that as "limerick."

There was a young man from Auckland city,
Who thought a girl awfully pretty.
Though he's not quite all there,
So he'll never see her bare,
Thus life goes on oh so sh***y.

I've had strong feelings for people, but these have never been returned, so I wouldn't really count them as love.

Definitely, definitely can relate to this. The way I look at it, when you become infatuated with someone, you actually create an idealised version of them in your head, and that's who you dream about. The hurt always comes from the realisation that there's a huge gulf between the real and the imagin...

Bert and Lavinia are both good people, but I'm sorry to say that "Bert's Family Feud" has been canceled! I wonder if there are any other game shows on Australian TV besides "Temptation" and "Deal or No Deal." I didn't realise Family Feud had ben canned so soon. Must've been pretty recent. I know 9 ...

My major criticism of Star Trek is, over time, the show(s) have moved from being perfectly willing to be critical of the self to being completely critical of the other. The original series was perfectly happy (and very good at) doing stories that examined many of "our" core beliefs, and wasn't afrai...

I'm a New Zealander and I know who they are!

How about Bert Newton. And Lavinia Nixon plays a sizeable role in Temptation, she should get a choice of her own.
