This bugs me too, because I don't actually think there's a 'meaning' to our lives. As said above, we can give ourselves meaning, but it comes from ourselves. My purpose is probably to do with kids - I want to be a teacher and also want to have kids one day. I didn't always think that, but it's just ... |

I am doing this right now, and doing it reeeeally slowly with very gradual reductions. I have done it before (under medical supervision) but the gradations they suggested were too steep and I had side effects. This time it seems to be going fine. I hope when I'm totally off them I feel fine too! Aft... |

I am tired most of the time, as in I struggle not to fall asleep during the day most days. Is this because of overstimulation? |

Yes! 99% of the time I will choose to have silence, but sometimes I will slip into a state of hyperfocus where I don't even notice that there is noise around me. |

In reality, no, but I so understand what you mean. Talking takes so much effort and even though I'm actually very good verbally, it is tiring. I love days where I don't have to talk to anyone. However, I would hate not to have the option of speech. But yes, sometimes I do fantasise about not having ... |

I was reading something about Aspies spotting patterns everywhere... can anyone give me an example of this? I don't quite know what they mean, and it's bugging me that I don't know whether I do it or not! |

I think I had 2 "finding out" moments - the first moment I saw a documentary on girls with autism and recognised so much of myself in it. I felt so surprised but also like a light had been switched on - from that moment on things have slotted into place in my head a lot more. I felt intere... |

I am finding since diagnosis that I am less and less bothered about having friends. Because I've been good at making myself seem sociable I actually have more friends than I want and am trying to work out by trial and error how many I need and who, and how often etc. I definitely have a desire for S... |

When I know the route extremely well and have done it many, many times, then I can love driving, as long as nothing stressful happens (sudden breaking, cyclists etc). However, I generally find it very stressful and some of my times of highest anxiety and panic have been while driving. Motorways are ... |

I think I show more autistic traits when I'm particularly tired/ stressed/ excited - basically when I'm over-stimulated. I guess telling people that your autistic traits will be stronger at certain times is a perfectly fine way of describing it. That's how I'd describe it anyway! |

I despise those questions but have learnt (I think!) to appear super normal and comfortable with them, mainly by deflecting back to the other person. I will just say anything ("How are you?" - "Good thanks, you?") even if it's not true, because it appears to me that they don't ca... |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXoWg08pwiQ This purely because when I first thought I might have Aspergers, I was feeling a bit crap and I was nervous about a date I was going on that evening, but I played this on repeat on the way to his house. I'm interested in relationships, people, psychology, autism, health (mental, physical, emotional), reading, writing, acting, clothes, skincare, Friends and The Office, films, aerial silks, dancing. |
