It depends on the person. You have to gauge whether they want to hear about your "rough day." If the person you're talking to tries to change the subject, I would take that as a cue to stop talking about your "rough day." What's relevant, also, is whether or not you've listened ... |

I recently saw the Decemberists live. Highly recommended. They sound great and put on an entertaining show as well. Very lively and upbeat. I haven't really listened much to the other groups listed. I also like the Shins. Very similar to the Decemberists. The song titles the Shins come up with are ... |

I love Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes! I'm into the music, otherwise I don't know much about either. Only that Seattle turns out so many great artists, and that the album Fleet Foxes is worth buying on vinyl... Inside was a sheet a paper with one of the most beautiful explanations of album I've ever read... |

Unless you're close friends with somebody, you really shouldn't share most of your secrets with people. However...if you feel good doing that, then I suppose it's okay. If' it's okay with them. But I'd be cautious with people I don't know. Most people are okay--but some might try to take advantage ... |

I don't know, I disagree with most of these replies... Yes, it's sometimes just a pleasantry, but either way it's an invitation. Life can be hectic, and I for one tend to withdraw and forget about others when I'm busy... So I try not to read too much into it when someone doesn't text or call. But wh... |

When you have friends you feel close to (or acquaintances that could turn into more!), is it frowned upon or "unstable" to confide in all of them? Or should rough days and negative emotions be dealt with on your own, and only shared with one or two people? |

I think so? My dog seems too smart for his own good. In fact, I'd say he's manipulative and has an attitude. |

Welcome! This site has definitely helped me. Whether you actually post things or just lurk, it's nice to know that others share your feelings. Good luck in college. |

I find myself getting off track in the middle of homework, reading, or painting by needing to run around or pace. It won't happen in public, but when I'm alone it's so easy to jump from thought to thought - and before I know it, I'm pacing and skipping and thinking! |

To be an autistic person thinking they are neurotypical living in a neurotypical world is a creepy place where black is white, red is yellow, a place with no anchor somehow similar to Kafka's novel "The castle" (A must read book). You didn't offend me but sometimes I find the NT world som... |

Yes, I've cried over three. Actually, the first boy made me cry because he used me. I cried over the second because as much as I cared for him, it was not a good relationship. The third... Well, he still makes me feel every emotion, all at once. |

I can relate, too, but I think we have to be cautious not to throw anyone who doesn't fit in into the 'must have some disorder' category. My personal solution is firstly to accept that I will probably never have this feeling of 'belonging' in a group and instead look out for the one or two persons ... |

As I slowly clear away the muck of depression and low self-esteem with CBT, I get closer and closer to figuring out who I really am. I've spent so much time "acting" and trying to please others, but I haven't taken enough time to just think about me. Me, without the interference of other ... |
