And, now... for one of the most brilliant examples of hubris in recent history: "I'm proud to announce that in a sign of party unity all 17 Republican presidential candidates have pledged to support our eventual nominee ," said RNC Chairman Priebus. "We have the largest, most diverse...

I view abortion as a positive good for those who are able to choose it. I think the pro-life argument is too idealistic and only creates more human suffering. Pro-lifers also strike me as hypocritical in their tendency to want to force women to complete their pregnancy, while typically holding posit...

If I say something and someone else uses what I said and decides to kill someone, it was that person who made that decision for themselves. I think that adults should be responsible for their own decisions. I just don't understand blaming society or groups because of an individual doing something s...

No worries, Blonde Alien, the love I have for my father is minimal if at all existent, so I'm no longer tied to his expectations.

On topic, the style of clothes I'm most interested in is victorian. I think going for an androgynous or male-objectified look would be enjoyable also.

Was raised a devout Southern Baptist, later deconverted to atheism towards the end of high school. Churches have always made me uncomfortable, even before my deconversion. All those smiling people, feigning kindness and familiarity, and the guilt of the sermon that made me feel perpetually inadequat...

I loved wearing dresses, butterfly wings, and tutus when I was closer to my toddler years. My babysitters promoted this behavior and liked to dress me up. I unfortunately didn't develop those interest; my dad tried to prohibit my feminine activities, for worries that they would "turn me gay.&qu...

Eleanor is my favorite, because she was a bad-a** fighter for civil rights. (I'm sure she has some sh** in her history, but I haven't been interested enough to investigate.)

Franklin is my least, because he doesn't have quite the endearing charisma of Teddy, and also internment camps.

Limiting speech that can be offensive to minorities is racist, in that it would not provide the same limits against the same offensive language that minorities use themselves. Take the "Evil N-Word", for example. As a white man, I can not even use it in an academic illustration (such as t...

A few possible symptoms I forgot that may be significant: I've dissociated during extreme periods of stress, which is problematic when my "autopilot" doesn't recognize that I'm standing on someone's toes; I still occasionally self-harm when exceptionally frustrated, usually manifest in bea...

Hello all. I'm a nineteen year-old college student from Kentucky. Unfortunately, I'm currently on a leave of absence from school, due to problems I've been having that I don't quite understand. I was hoping you all could provide some insight. The Muck: I am a gay man--relatively certain--as I've nev...
