My parents and basically every single teacher I've ever had has said that I have Autism. But my parents have never let me have a diagnosis because they don't want me to be labelled as Autistic. The school won't give me any support unless I have a diagnosis and I really need the support. I'm barely a... |

My parents, and basically every single teacher I've ever had, had said that they're 100% sure I have Autism. But my parents won't me get get a diagnosis. I feel like I'd get a lot more support (I have none at the moment) if I had a diagnosis and I feel like it would be good if we had an explanation ... |

My school are offering me some support, but not for autism. I've been diagnosed with Dyspraxia, Dyslexia and Social Anxiety. The school let me take tests in a small room with some other pupils who have similar difficulties and I get extra time on tests. So I only really get help with formal tests. F... |

Thanks! I was diagnosed with mild dyslexia but it only really affects my spelling (you have no idea how much I have to re-read and spell-check every single one of these posts!) and reading (I do really badly in tests at school). My maths skills and pretty much everything else is un-affected. I find ... |

I have taken informal IQ tests through school and I have an IQ of 145 which I guess is pretty high. I do okay in school but I can't exactly claim that I'm exeptionally clever. I'm of an average intelligence at best. I guess I'm just good at figuring stuff out which is basically what an IQ test asks ... |

Thank you. I don't feel like I need a diagnosis because as much as autism affects my life, I don't feel like they could do anything about it. I feel quite content with my life right now so I think I'll leave it. |

Thank you for your help. I'm not sure if I should go through the road of receiving a diagnosis. |

I was wondering what help/support you have received since being diagnosed as I, not currently diagnosed, was wondering if there's a point. The waiting list is going to be really long and I'm not sure if it will really benefit me. I don't know what they could do. I'm 13 (nearly 14) so was also wonder... |

I was wondering what help/support you have received since being diagnosed? Or what support is usually given to teenagers/those still in education? |

I live in a city just outside of Liverpool (about 45 minutes away). But when I was getting diagnosed we lived down south. We stopped trying to get a diagnosis after we moved as we'd had to have started the whole process from the start. |

Yeah, when I was first about to be diagnosed, the psychologist had no idea what they were doing. They specialised in Dyspraxia, which was what I was originally going to be diagnosed with, and knew very little about autism. I guess I've just never had much luck with psychologists. |

I'll try to speak to my parents soon, I just don't know when. I guess I've seen Muse more times than I thought. I've never missed a single Reading Festival since 2002 (the year I was born) so I googled all of the lineups from each year and I've seen them in 2002, 2006 and 2011. I can't remember the ... |

Hi, thanks for your advice! I haven't talked to anyone in school for ages about it. I was in the process of being diagnosed when I was about 6 or 7 but we just gave up because it was taking so much time and energy to get a formal diagnosis. My parents admit that they think I am autistic but they are... |
