I get self conscious too when I'm watching a movie that gets really heavy, and ther'r others around me watching it. It mostly comes from the fact that I don't know if I'm really supposed to be watching it, or staring or watching and thinking about something else or what. So I just don't watch it. Be... |

Is there something that someone has figured out to say to an NT or (mostly nt) that would help them help me? If someone says something like "I don't want to see you do that" for example, my response is automatically going to be "Then don't look". Very specific. And then maybe a few hours or days lat... |

If I'm looking at the ground while I'm walking, I absolutly cannot walk on the cracks (whether it be a real crack like in a road, or between even things like tile or sidewalk sections). If I'm not looking at the ground i get this feeling in my feet like I am walking on the cracks...I'v learned to bl... |

Yea. I agree with Sola I'll "listen" to mainstream music, as long as it has a certain rhythm and such and I need to be able to daydream while listening to it...unless you're not allowed to daydream while "listening" to music...I'm not sure what exactly the criteria would be to constitute listening..... |

Did it not ever occur to these scientists that, perhaps because "autistics have different brain wiring", that I/they/we (whatever) don't daydream with the same parts of the brain as NTs??! Idiocy! 8O So it seems that they were looking for this brain activity in a certain location, and not just askin... |

I don't know if this would or will actually help anyone... My mother didn't know that my brother and I (and my dad...)had asperger's before she past, but this did seem to help all the same. (My sister is NT btw.) When I was younger, and my mom would take us to resturaunts or shopping, if my brother ... |

I spin when I get momentarily "stressed"...usually just once around... especially at somebody who's said something then repeated it or has asked me to repeat something. I absolutely hate that. If they're lucky, they'll also get an eye roll while i'm doing it. Makes me wonder what that looks like fro... |

I'm new to this forum, but have posted some things. However, I get a little confused (i hate confused ^.^ )with some of the terms used. I'v figured out AS, from context...but I'm not completely sure what NT would be, exactly, except that it means someone who isn't AS. And I was wondering if someone ... |

I work in a delivery/carry out pizza place....I often have to go and hide out in the bathroom or "smoke" (i pretend to) because the phones are almost constantly ringing, there are usually 3 conversations going on at once, and you have all these orders to do...we don't just deliver pizza either, its ... |
