I think my first serious special interest, was an unusual one (by societal standards) for a girl. It was trains. And not just any trains. It was the Santa Fe trains. I guess I liked the red and silver color combination of the Santa Fe diesel engines. I was obsessed with them and thought about them m...

Bought Skyrim a couple years ago while it was on sale, basically wanted to see what the hype was about :) The furthest I've gotten with one character was to the embassy (I forget what the name of it is, I think it's the elfin empire). My character was a warrior, loosely based on a character from a s...

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been around here... Here's a small update on the return to school situation... I found out that the school that I went to does have online courses in the subject I studied (English). I have two semesters remaining to get my degree, which would probably take longer if I were ...

I hated math in school but was fairly decent at it until calculus  I gravitated more to literature and creative writing. I also hated interpreting others' writing and ideas in school, lol. Even now on the test that I took to diagnose me with an ASD (hopefully the last IQ test I will ever take i...

Hi, I was just 'officially' diagnosed with an ASD age 38. Knowing all your life that you're 'different' and then having it confirmed by a doctor... let's just say it's an odd feeling.

Where are you located? You could take at least some online classes. Depending on your location, you would probably be eligible for some sort of student aid--especially if you have no job or a low-paying job. How many credits do you have towards your degree? I'm in Louisiana. I'm not entirely sure h...

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It has been about twenty four hours since I received the papers in my hand that confirmed to me what I already knew. And I am struggling with it. I thought it would bring clarity but all it has brought is more confusion. They say the truth shall set you free... we...

Hello, as I said in my intro post, I was recently officially diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. One of the recommendations the psychiatrist made was joining this website. Another of the recommendations the psychiatrist made was to finish my undergraduate degree. There are a few snags with t...

These days the ole brain has atrophied and the primary interests are your basic run of the mill geeky stuff... you know, gaming  mostly Sims and some Skyrim and Dragon Age when my mind can concentrate and when my computer can cooperate. I can't affor...

Nope, no knowledge of Latin or Greek either, just a mythology fanatic  Alas, haven't touched the stuff in years now, myself.

Rome's roads were infinitely better than ours are, too. :P Even now.

Hi Venus, I like Renaissance sculpture--and Renaissance art in general. Your name struck a bit of a chord in me. Welcome. You'll find many people of a kindred spirit here. Hi, In college I was a bit of a classicist. If I wasn't in the computer lab I was in the library reading lots of Greek and Roma...

I just got the (dreaded) piece of paper that said I have an ASD. There it is, written in black and white. But I didn't need that stack of paper to tell me. I got it anyway. I didn't talk until I was four and even then it wasn't fully complete sentences, I'm told. I had speech therapy for nine years,...
