Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Is this an autistic behavior or normal?

I'm asking just for more knowledge of myself and who I am/ why I behave. Self awareness is important. So often times when i'm in between games on league or when i'm just browsing the internet or using youtube, I guess I subconsciously pick at the skin around the outer area of my ankles. Even if its ...

Here's how my obsessions were when I was younger. When I was young, I obsessed over different languages, and at age 7 I was able to write a children's book in egyptian, mandarin and russian. I also obsessed over naruto, and made my own moves and weapons. I also had other stuff that I kind of obsesse...

I don't think you need to get rediagnosed. I read that those already diagnosed with Aspergers will continue to be known as someone with Aspergers. New diagnoses will be called ASD. Why they bothered is beyond my comprehension - maybe all they want is to confuse everyone! Are you sure about this? Ca...

So like, i'm aware that nowadays, Asperger's is technically not existant anymore according to the DSM V. Everything is apparently now just different levels of autism. Now, I was lucky to be diagnosed with Asperger's at a young age thus giving me a possibly better idea of why I act the way I do (alth...

I'm still not fully familiar with what is and isn't allowed to be posted here but someone straight up made a thread about cutting so i'll assume this is within the confines. If it's not feel free to lock it, I won't be angry or anything. So i've done alot of research on this topic and found that, an...

To be honest it reminds me of Vulcans in Star Trek talking about Humans. Or Tolkien's Elves. Maybe even Vampires vs humans as well. Whatever special race that is not a part of the general population. The way those NT's act compared to us. The way those NT's treat us. We are from another planet. A p...

Maybe I just have a different perspective on this all, but although I am a bit of a narcissist, I don't see what makes me unique or better than the typical person. Above average IQ? You don't need to be autistic to have that, it just makes it more likely. I know plenty of non autistic people who are...

Or any other games for that matter? Personally, I love to play League of Legends even though it has its anger-provoking moments (as all online games are likely to cause, but this one in particular as it forces you to rely on four other morons). Would love to talk to some other people about some leag...

oSovereign, any progress or more thoughts on your situation? I went to the class on thursday, and he decided to have class outside instead. Was significantly more relaxing being out in nature, but I can't help but wonder if he did this because of me or not. Either way doesn't matter, was alot less ...

I think I could manage staring at someone I know well for a decent amount of time for the fun of it but my main issue with eye contact is managing both that and conversation. I cannot think about what the other person is saying if i'm looking them in the eyes because I can only process one of the tw...

What your describing isn't an autistic thing or an NT thing, it's not even a human thing, it's something that happens to all animals. Loud unexpected noises typically make people jump, raises their heart rate and activates the fight or flight response, it's a defense mechanism that prepares us inca...

And don't fully understand what it means. Never heard it mentioned in my psychology classes or anything... Is it just things you physically do to relax yourself while having anxiety? I know that some of the stuff I do is to touch my chin/ face, mess with my fingers/ hands, and chew on the front top ...

Decided to take the aspie quiz for fun. Many of the questions felt very irrelevant, such as: "Do you have odd hair" LOL. That can more come down to genetics than anything else. Anyways here is what I got. Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 168 of 200 Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 3...

What are all these 'aspie quizzes' and 'autism levels' that I keep seeing in everyone's signature. Where do you even get/ take these? I haven't been diagnosed or anything since I was 4 years old so I have no idea what any of this stuff is.

Although I don't paint that often, when I do choose to, I can replicate most artworks to a considerable degree and can paint at a pretty skillfull level. This is without any proper training or learning how to paint, it just occurs naturally to me.
