I like the taste of coffee, but I wish it tasted as lovely as it smells sometimes.

There's a book called "Writers on the Spectrum". It talks about writers like Dickinson and Thoreau and how they may have been autistic, and how that may have influenced their writing style.

I'd like to read that. Thanks.

Upstate New York, it must be said, was a hotbed of intellectual activity during the nineteenth century. The suffragette/feminist movement started here (I forgot exactly where--but it was near the Finger Lakes). Then you have the Chautauqua Movement---where people used to go from town to town giving...

I have a muse in every city

If there isn't one in a certain town, I merely create one out of a composite of various people and ideals.

That's a great idea.

Great! I've had a fair amount of poetry published in journals, but not for over 20 years. Recently, I've been trying to get back into writing poetry again, but am finding it difficult after so many years away from it. I highly recommend trying (if you haven't) writing a pantoum because of the struc...

Welcome to WP, fellow creative person! Have you published any of your poetry?

Thank you. :D Yes, I have published some in my college's literary magazine, and had one published in a book when I was 11.

[quote="kraftiekortie"]Do you delve into the creative quite a bit? Me: I think of myself as a creative, but not an especially "spiritual" person.[/quote Definitely! From poetry to painting to just plain observations that may only make sense to me. I love being creative. I think s...

I think, once you get more inland, the towns tend to get nicer and leafier. The main problem with some of these towns could be the frequent flooding. I just wrote a lengthy response and it was somehow deleted, as WP may think I'm a robot. Anyway, I lived in Lodi for a year--a bit on the rougher sid...

I once had a third cousin who lived in Tenafly. Very nice town. My grandfather lived in Palisades Park. A little rougher than Tenafly. Bergen county is so interesting like that. The one small (but packed) town will be wealthy, such as Tenafly, and a neighboring town might even be significantly roug...

I've lived most of my life in Queens--but I've lived in every other borough except Staten Island.

What part of Jersey? For some reason, I'm thinking you lived in Bergen County.

You're correct! I lived in a few towns in that county. Boroughs, actually, as they often call them in that county.

I've lived there all my 55 years. There's lots, of course, that are convenient and good about NYC However, there is much which is aggravating as well: the noise, the parking, the dirt, the sheer volume of people! I get what you're saying. I lived in the NYC metro area (in NJ) for about 15 years, an...
