Well I don't believe in a 'god of the gaps' in that sense. The life-permittance of the universe is not among the reasons I have for faith. Physics is physics. The divine has to do with other things, though I'm hesitant to bring that up as it is essentially a different story (I mean, this was never a...

Hm, yes, but do we know that there is an infinte number of possibilities for universes to come into existence or are we assuming that is the case because we live in one that just happens to be so improbable that eternity is needed to explain it?

I thought part of his point, albeit merely tacitly implied, was that this is not like a lottery where someone winning is a given. OTOH, we have to be in a life-permitting universe to be able to have any view of it.

With you 100% on this. It was fun at age 10, now it's just obnoxious.

I don't like weed. I hate comedy music, with a few exceptions like early Boredoms who felt more like they were sardonically mocking popular music, musically , not with 'funny' lyrics. I think most people are morons and am probably a misanthrope, though I dislike misanthropes the most. I don't hold t...

Wow! You may be the only person on here who likes more abrasive noise than I do! Good job! Don't like that at all, but good for you... I totally relate to the noise to everyone else thing however That's too bad but I guess it's to be expected. I don't consider Min & Klina-Men very abrasive thou...

Oh, I remember listening to To Live is to Die, 11 years old, feeling vaguely suicidal. It's easily one of their better songs in my opinion. Still like it, though I haven't been a fan of Metallica since age 12 or 13. I have lots of unpopular opinions on music, but most probably pertain to how much of...

I quite like William Lane Craig (even though I'm not a Christian).

I don't think there's any reason to assume one's own physique 'should' influence what one finds attractive. Attraction is not something you owe anyone. I do believe it's quite involuntary. I rarely find women larger than myself attractive. I weigh about 60 kilos (132 lbs). I'm not a fan of the super...

I believe that responsibility must be proportional to capacity/power. One can not be responsible for anything outside of one's capacity. On top of that, there are typically competing responsibilities. For example, I am the person who is the most responsible for my own well-being. This entails things...

That was very much the case for me when I was younger and as a kid I only smiled when something was funny. So I was always told that I looked angry, sulky etc. to which I would reply "no, this is just the way I look". Then, as I've gotten older, I'm not sure how or why, I've become practic...

I'm glad to see that belief in the divine is not as rare here as in my home country of Sweden. The vast majority of people here are atheists and typically assume you're stupid if you believe in God. Ironically, these common people have lots of unfounded beliefs themselves and typically don't believe...

Monogatari is a pretty interesting, it has a pretty confusing timeframe that requires some graphs to piece it all together. It is a good series by Studio SHAFT which loves its symbolism. I might recommend you another Studio SHAFT anime if you enjoy some of the thinking stuff, perhaps try Puella Mag...

Location: Sweden Hobbies and Interests: Too many interests to list, but music is perhaps my main interest. Composing, listening etc. I really go back and forth with my interests, so one month I'm fanatical about the science fiction setting I'm working on, the next month it might be something else, o...
