Can you give her a big huge calender that you/she can mark off the days she will be with you and the days she will be with dad? I used to do that with my dd years ago and it helped so much. Years later my dh and I had two boys who were spectrum and we do things like this too. Since my dd is quite ol... |

I posted this question over on the General board to see what info I might get but here is the situation. Both my boys have been previously dx'd with Aspergers by more than one doc. But for School we had to get a new eval with a new doc and due to the Doc's "observations" it's only ADHD and a LD. I k... |

I know ADHD can be mis-dx'd when it's really Aspergers sometimes. So whats the difference.
When is it ADHD and when is it more? |

I am not an aspie but boy do I have some strong traits. I believe if my father was still alive, he would of gotten the AS dx. I do/have so many things. I have alot of anxiety and panic attacks. I have ADHD and some OCD. I pick my head and pace alot when I'm nervous. I even like to flap my wrists bac... |

First of all I think there are a couple of posts here that are overly harsh. I mean how in the world can you call a child a spoiled brat without even meeting him??? As for the schools responsibility, they have more than what a pp poster stated above. Yes it is our job to discipline our kids. Yes it ... |

Read this article, and then pay attention to the bottom about a school that does things differently that works for our kids. My son was held in a room for 4 hours (not a "padded quiet room" and he was sat on") All because they didn't accept his AS dx, and claimed him to have ODD." He has been trauma... |

Yes, thankfully he is a pretty polite guy. It makes it hard when he will melt down and then you see the other side of him lol. The school just wants to say ODD when it's really aspergers. But there a bunch of dorks anyway lol. You could be completly right about the ADHD, or sometimes Typical way of ... |

You know the other day my son said he was riding his bike down the side walk, coming home from a friends house (10 houses down) and he saw a stranger walking on the same sidewalk. When he passed he thanked the person for moving aside. He came home and told me and kept on saying I didn't talk to him ... |

I just have to chuckle here as my boys love to say Technically, or actually too. Whats even funnier is when they do it to each other. They always get along best when there talking to each other like that lol. I just ignore it. It's not something that really bothers me. I would rather work on a bigge... |

We tried chewing gum and it didn't work. He likes his fingers :) LOL. We tried stress balls but he would chew it to bits. The only thing I could think of were chewing necklaces, but the ones I found online were very floresent and very girly. Why can't they make one in an Army pattern???? He would lo... |

Please know I am trying to help here with your situation, but you and your sig other needs to understand about the tooth brushing and showering deal. My son has a VERY logical... |

I wonder if the Zyrtec has a stimulant in it (like the non drowsy kind?). I know sometimes ADHD meds that are stimulants can cause tics in ADHD kids and I wonder the stimulant is the cause. |

Do you have any private speech centers that teach social skills? I was just looking at a site in the next town next to us and thinking of this same thing. I noticed part of there social skill group was teaching personal space.
I wish I could help you tho as I am in the same boat lol. |

Thats an interesting way of putting it. My son has a lip licking tic and HATES it because it eventually hurts. So that I'm sure is a tic. Poor guy, just when we hope it's gone and won't come back, it does. The only thing I can tell him is it will be gone in a few weeks. Not much else we can do as me... |

I agree DW. I never stop him. I know he needs to do it. I just feel bad when he chews them raw. I have tried other substitutes but he always goes back to the chewing of the fingers ect. Anyway, I always thought it was a tic, but then again I wonder if there's really much of a diff between a tic or a... |
