It's funny that this topic came up now lol. Sorry if someone else already mentioned it, but I just finished reading The Center Cannot Hold by Dr. Elyn Saks that described her life with schizophrenia (she's a law professor at USC now). In it, she described how someone who didn't know about her diagno...

Thanks for the input so far. Unfortunately, I can only donate to the charities on the list, so the Kelberman Center is out. The other autism related ones are: Autism Speaks, Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, Organization for Autism, The Autism Society of America Foundation, and the Autism Socie...

I work for the federal government (army) and the Combined Federal Campaign is coming up. Basically, it's a list of a couple thousand charities to choose from that you can setup an allotment to so that some money is donated from each paycheck. One of them is the Asperger's Association of New England....

Thanks for the replies. There's one other thing I'm wondering about. I still have some questions about what happened back then, but I don't know how to ask and I'm afraid I might scare her away by going anywhere near the subject. Among other things, she made it seem like she stopped writing back in ...

I've been in the army as a field artillery officer for a little over 2 years now and I can't say that it's been very fun. I was finally diagnosed with AS at my officer basic course (spatial issues mostly, I can navigate fine with a map and compass, but can't remember directions and routes in urban a...

She probably has a lot of friends and a lot of stuff going on in her life. I have had friends who meant much more to me than I did to them and it hurt to realise that. I guess she is NT so I would send her the occasional email just chatting about general stuff in your life not anything about feelin...

Hello, first post here. It's nice to finally find a site like this. I'm really confused right now. Here's the short version: I had a really good friend in high school until I had to move towards the end of our sophomore year. She was pretty much perfect in my eyes, a really nice person, great person...
