Forum: Love and Dating   Topic: Are there some women out there who care too much about looks

Maybe the girl forgot that there'll be no class on Thursday. I'm a creature of habit and could totally see myself doing something like that. Not sure how weight/looks plays into that encounter -- you had a pleasant, casual chat with a girl you barely knew and she ain't snarky, mean or in any way dis...

Yes, I'm comfortable meeting internet dates after exchanging just a few messages -- in a public place, far from my home. Tend to keep the first few dates that way. Chemistry matters and I can't tell if I click with the person without meeting them in person. Been with my boyfriend, whom I've been wit...

I'd take what the friend said at face value -- it's perfectly normal not to bite every single friend to every single thing.

If you enjoy the women's company, keep being friends with her. If not, cool the friendship.

I think it depends on the person. If you're not comfy meeting up after 3 OKC messages, so be it. It's a personal preference. I always wanted to meet up in person with an internet date pretty quickly (within first week of correspondence) -- as was looking for a boyfriend not a penpal. That's my prefe...

My assumption is that you're sending a generic one liner or a wink/flirt as a first message (which takes negligible time) and broaden your geographic area (2 hr radius vs 1 hr radius from you) and broaden your criteria (be willing to consider girls who are older/younger, more/less educated, etc). Sa...

Don't send money, don't reply to anyone who asks for money and don't give outcrop much personal information. Do that and you won't get scammed.

You're not looking for a million responses. You're looking for one response from a person you click with and find attractive. it's also helpful to not take a non-response to a generic one-liner or wink/flirt message as rejection. Assume it's par for the course and, like, one response per 50 or 100 m...

Free dating sites work just fine and don't take up tons of time if you do up a decent profile with photos, are specific about what you're looking for (casual sex, marriage, whatever) and message/reply to messages accordingly.

I met my boyfriend on OKC and have several friends who met their spouses on OKC, POF, jdate and match. I think my expectations were pretty realistic - I was looking for a fun, reasonably cute, well-read, well-educated guy who shared some of my interests (travel, books, foreign policy) who didn't hav...

Revamping the online dating profile (rewriting your profile, posting new photos, posting the new profile on a new-to-you dating site) is an alternative to pretending to be an a**hole to get dates.

I guess sly would rather be miserable indefinitely than get medical help for anxiety and depression, despite the fact that oregon's gun laws can't take his guns away from him for seeking help.

If your picture is your avatar, you look fine to me. If your looks are killing your confidence, then do something about the things you can change without major medical procedures -- meds or cleansers for the acne, gym plus healthy food for the body and a trip to the mall (or a vintage boutique) with...

You have friends. That's a good thing. Maybe it's time to count your blessings?

Or try a new dating site and only send one message to any girl, so you won't get banned from it this time around. (If hove been banned from more than one site, I have to assume it's because you did something wrong).

Oregon's gun laws require that you've been involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital or the Dept Human Services to take away your guns.

Meds for depression or anxiety will not result in the confiscation of your weapons.

1. Washington State can't take your guns away from you for taking meds for depression or anxiety. Only if you've been convicted of a crime. Given that upwards of 10 percent of adults are on meds for a psychiatric condition, the police certainly have better things to do than take guns away from those...
