Honestly, it just seemed like another fact of life to me. Yeah, people dies. But people die from Cancer or from car crashes or whatever else you can think of too. It happens. Honestly my reaction was about the same. But then I'm not exactly American... Just out of curiosity - would you take the sam... |

lol - I don't know of any other place where meeting random people on the internet to come home and play with fecal matter would be defended. |

There are 3 siblings in my family. When the impending deaths of my parents started becoming apparent - we started to find out how my parents intended to disburse the estate. Basically - the oldest sibling was going to get shafted - and my brother and I would receive the lions share of everything. T... |

Into adulthood, what happens when the one that doesn't "fit" goes on? Those kids are gone...but the anticipation remains. The behaviors that singled them out as being "different" (and the defense mechanisms) continue...thereby signifying them as being "different" to people that have no other basis ... |

If you developed man breasts, grew out your hair, and took a video that was relatively dark, yes, I might think you were a woman too. |

The relatively high timbre of the voice, the movements, the somewhat long hair, etc. None of it even suggested at anything masculine. |

After reading this thread, I am intrigued - is there anything you'd care to tell us about the parents? Because unless there's a lot going on that isn't coming out in the two perspectives we've seen so far, I'm left leaning toward the idea that Li'l Bro is a jerk of the first water. (No, I'm not inc... |

I dunno either... I just can't help but think, through my own experiences, that what happens in childhood is rarely indicative of what happens in adulthood. Sometimes people see patterns that on a prima fascia level might look like perpetuations of "the same" but in reality aren't. Children have an ... |

AspieBrother, I hate to say it, but your experience with your brother seems VERY familiar! Do AS people have the ability to feel grateful? OF COURSE!! !! Do YOU understand what that is? Maybe not! You apparently, like many probably, hurt him. You have probably NEVER really apologized, and he would ... |

I mean really. How many times before you were even ten years old did other kids shove your head in the toilet, spit on you, make up rumours that you're a slut or a junkie, push you into foul-smelling puddles, beat the crap out of you, throw rocks and other things at you, pull down your pants, shove... |

My memory USED to be very good. I could tell you the year, and perhaps the month, and where I learned something, etc... TODAY, like you, I have no real time line. LUCKILY, I can tell by the propinquity of things about when. STILL, there are some memories that seem out of place. LUCKILY, I know that... |

I can relate to that. Recently I spent a few months back in the home I grew up in. One of the things we did was to organize all of the photos from the various years of Christmas parties we used to hold at my parent's house. For the life of me - I couldn't organize them to save my life. I remember Ch... |

In short, yes we experience gratitude- and love and affection and a desire to be around people we care about and a desire for them to be well and happy. That being said, there's a reason it's called autism- as you may know, it literally means "selfism". Maybe you and your brother just have clashing... |

Apology accepted, and I apologize if it seemed like I was being demeaning to what you've gone through. I do recognize that a person's own experience is all that they have to gauge by. I don't mean to demean anything that you've been through. |
