I'm a recent music college grad, I can probably help you out here! :D There really is no such thing as a "stable 40 hour" job as far as the music business goes, unless if you want to teach in a school/college or be a symphony musician...you probably will get some kind of benefits, but even...

Ok, so I thought I would reply back w/ my experience so future forum searchers would know. :P This orientation was literally showing us a 15 minute video about VR and a couple real life examples of how they assisted people, followed by handing everyone packets that had to be filled out before schedu...

That's actually really neat! Mind sharing what online companies pay like this? (if you are allowed to talk about it of course! :P)

Another female aspie here, mid 20's from USA. Is there a general disability or invisible illness support group in your area? I don't like the aspie meetup in my area since it's kind of clique-y, but facebook groups for those 2 have been such a great safe space to vent to and ask advice on! :P

It depends on where you're at and who your counselor is, if you don't like the person or don't think you can work with them then change right away if you can since that is the most important thing. All I can say about Voc Rehab is that it's a direction and a lifeboat even tho I would not expect the...

I have an appointment in a few days...I know this is probably a question that has been answered before, but i think the search function isn't working for me since nothing shows up. I'm hoping I can hear back from people who have gone through it before. Potentially stupid question though, do we need ...

I know you're asking for words from parents, and I'm not one... But I'll add my few cents for having "missed" out on it all, later in life. It really is optional. I can't imagine the mess I and my life would be if I had tried to go down the road of parenthood. I consider it one of the few...

Also, the OP is in doubt whether this is a good career choice for her. It would be good to have a realistic view of the profession before entering it, in case she needs to change direction a bit. Yep, though we don't know what the field is. The cultures and lifestyles and opportunities between beco...

My dear fellow aspies, you're going off-topic. Gender equality is important and surely worth discussing somewhere else , but let us stick to the Edentiel's first post: She's having trouble coping with a high work load and needs help with just that. Like I said, contacting the college administration...

So I'm in another state right now doing a summer workshop at a college...and I have been pushing myself to try and be more social. I had lunch with the teacher's assistant the first day I got here, and I can say I made a good effort to participate in conversations when we had lunch with guest speake...

Long post warning, I've been busy the last few days and couldn't get replies out sooner! :P Just a thought: maybe coping might partly be about accepting that no one can be their best self at every hour of a long day. Is it the optimal learning environment? No, it certainly doesn't sound like it. You...

How the heck do you guys do this? ... Welcome to the Working World. We just do it. Men have been putting in 12 to 16 hour days of hard labor for centuries. It's about time that women caught up with us and learned why we die five years earlier, on average, than women of the same age ... ... yeah, I ...

How the heck do you guys do this? I'm at a workshop at a college right now, and it's pretty much 12 hour days filled with projects and classes...the only scheduled breaks are for meals, the rest are all REALLY short breaks in between to move to a different classroom or a quick bathroom break. I'm re...

I think it's pretty normal for people to say they've had a long day, and I think people have different variations as to what that means. Do you think maybe the meal breaks will be good times to talk to people so you have time to yourself later? Also, you probably won't be as socially engaged in cla...

Hey GamingMaestro. How about responding with "oh. I can't tonight/tomorrow because I really need to catch up on lecture/homework. Thanks though for the invite." I'm pretty sure your classmates would be understanding as it will be 12 hour days. You could always tell them that you'd be inte...
