As someone trying to advise staff in community settings how to support someone with Autism to access, I would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on how to go about eye contact with someone with Autism. For service personell, the best would be to sit/stand opposite, but simply not try to make eye-contact; look at the mouth of the autistic, and that should be enough. That's really helpful to hear.
