Hi everyone, my name is Joe. I am a recently graduated physics major living at home. It’s been about 2 months since I’ve graduated, and the transition from college life to searching for a job has been difficult. In college, I was not the most social person. I was often depressed and overwhelmed and ...

Right now I am a senior in college with two semesters left, and am still dealing with a lot of social anxiety. The last few semesters I've fallen into kind of the same pitfalls each time. I tend to have a rough few weeks into the semester I have trouble keeping u with my work, my grades begin to sli...

I admit I am too. The best advice I can give is try to find some kind of ice breaker, like if she's wearing a shirt with one of your favorite characters on it. Tell her your a fan of that too and ask her what her favorite hero or villain is. Just try to find an ice breaker pertaining to the moment a...

I would say just try to warm up to her little and little as a friend. Just ask her about herself. If she's still comfortable talking, maybe you can eventually ask her if she knows anyone who could be a potential match.

For me it depends on the situation. If the girl looks at me first, I'll usually smile and wave hello. If I'm looking at her and she looks back at me, I'll immediately look away.

I also have issues with maintaining and growing relationships with my friends. Romantic and more platonic friendships are even harder. I have a few close friends and a fair number of acquaintances, but its hard for me grow relationships with my acquaintances, since its hard for me to tell whether or...

I admit sometimes I do. I have days where I don't want to talk to people and just be left alone to do what I want/need to do. But usually when someone wants to chat with me, I am more than willing to. I don't talk with people online much, mostly because I end up getting preoccupied and forget until ...

I found myself feeling very lonely last semester in college. My two roommates completely ignored me and had their friends over all the time. It made me feel even worse. But to cope I would just try to distract myself and sleep.

Yes, I feel you. Whenever I'm on facebook, I see my friends or acquaintances having a good time and enjoying things I wish I could enjoy. I already deal with major depression, but it makes me feel even more alone and not want to talk to people. I mostly just use it to look at and share memes.

I tend to be very introverted, but I do still like to be with my friends and groups with similar interests.

Agreed. If I can't get in contact with a friend, I just find something to distract myself and occupy my time.

I feel ya. I'm 20, but the whole dating issue has been bothering me for quite some time. At this point I feel like I've just giving up on the whole thing for the time being, it makes me upset to just think about it.

Ditto. I can tolerate loud music, but its not my cup of tea. When I do go to parties, I'm usually just keep to myself unless someone starts conversation or if it's just a few of my friends. I prefer a quieter evening playing Mario Party or something. But when its all people I don't know, I just kind...
