Note: some of the following is my view (and will probably be obvious where I write I believe/I think etc.), but most of it is a generalist view in an attempt to answer your question :) It's probably mostly a question of education and experience. People learn many different things in many different w...

Fair enough, I see what you're saying. Unfortunately for most of us our economic system doesn't really work in our favour. If you're doing all the right things as you've mentioned then ideally you should be able to afford the things you have mentioned. That's what we get told growing up, right? I'm ...

High-functioning in relation to your diagnosis doesn't refer to your level of function amongst the general population but amongst the autistic population. If you don't need support to carry out everyday activities and tasks then you are considered a high-functioning autistic. Of course you're going ...

Just another example of a NT being jealous of how superior we are :P But more seriously, we could argue this night and day but the truth is conflict is unfortunately a significant part of relationships regardless of ASD being involved. The author here just wasted a lot of their time writing a long a...

I was diagnosed earlier this year at the age of 28. I must say I found it to be quite an underwhelming experience. There are psychologists that bulk bill if you're seeking a diagnosis. Personally I find it hard to trust someone who charges more on top of what they get from Medicare, it seems like th...
