My son has a sunburn on his back. He said he didn't know. He said he "couldn't always feel it." So I did a test. I put my fingers on his back. He couldn't seem to tell me if I had one or two fingers on his back or the back of his legs. His belly didn't seem as bad. Very concerned. Should I...

I highly recommend Ross Greene's Collaborative Problem Solving and the Autism Discussion Page on Facebook, run by Bill Nasom. Both of these resources have helped me tremendously. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect, but it's not as bad as it was.

So far, we've had OT, PT, Speech and Behavior therapy. They've helped NOT AT ALL. None. Most OT you can do yourself. Look on Pinterest, there are some excellent blog posts about things you can do to help. Same with PT. We do have him on the list for some social skills classes. But frankly, I'm ambiv...

We tried it. It helped NOT at all. Sorry.

But Ross Greene's method called Collaborative Problem Solving is helping.

So is lots and lots of support. Schedules, lists, etc.

We are also currently in behavior therapy.

We homeschool.

If we are out he holds it as long as he can. He will not use a public toilet for poo. If we are out too long he will have an accident. He will not say he needs to go.

He already cleans himself up. It is actually a source of pride because he does it so well. I believe it started because he is an incredibly intense boy. He loves to pretend and gets so wrapped up in it that he just has trouble transitioning out to go to the bathroom. I think that's how it started. S...
