it feels as if people can talk with thier minds using thier eyes. except i cant lol. It is not a matter of feeling, it is reality. Most people do use eye contact and have the ability to read what others are thinking via looking at the eyes of another person. Many autistics have less natural skills b... |

Are we truly wierd? No. there is no such thing. I feel like theres a grid. With neurotypical at the middle. and neurodiversity off of it. Neurodiversity being aspergers, HFA, psychopathy, and biopolar. Aspergers is quite invisible yet it just irks people on a natural level. |

I disagree with the OP. Our senses are extreme. Not for everyone; some of mine are, others are so weak that i can call them 'absent' we live in a fantasy world. No, we (i) retreat there often to recharge or defend against overstimulation, but i don't "live" there our personalitys are gove... |

I think what's happening is we're seeing too much and can't filter out all that noise to notice people. Autism to me is that our senses are so bombarded that our brains have developed a coping mechanism by making us have a great attention to detail, so we just look at what it right in front of us. ... |

It also feels like we act consciencely in the world. Most people act subconsciously. We act conscienscously because we are high functioning. If we were low functioning, we would be like those that need taken care of. That is why our behaviors come across as awkward and such. I feel as if within mini... |

I can relate. It took me a long time to come to terms with that I am autistic, and even longer to accept that I will likely never be able to seem 100% normal in the eyes of others. And that's okay. Normal shouldn't be a thing to strive for - being yourself and being happy with you who are should be... |

Exuvian wrote: I didn't even know the peripheral vision one was "a thing", but can definitely attest to people telling me they waved to me in my car or in a hallway and I "ignored them". Actually If I didn't wave back, I was simply unaware. this is exactly what i mean. happens 24/7 lol |
