I hate those questionnaires with a passion (looking at you Packfinder). Those questionnaires are like: let's make assumptions about you and your character before even doing an interview or a pre-interview screening. They're not at all designed for us autistic and neurodiverse people. Just ugh... :x...

Autism is not something you can turn on and off just to keep others happy. It’s difficult because they say it’s not an issue when you explain about your autism or Asperger’s but then they get annoyed if you show symptoms or don’t agree with something or if you do something different to how they do i...

sadly i think research and studies confirm that its common for people on the autism spectrum to be either unemployed or just underemployed Sadly this very common for autistic people both in the UK and US. Also more autistics are either quitting jobs or getting fired from jobs due to employers lack ...

When someone with autism is employed they always seem to work hard and don’t get paid much for it. I read somewhere that employers can pick up on that fact that the autistic employee is only doing the job benefit of the work and not the money. I also think employers are discriminating against autis...

Update: We have cancelled Father’s Day tomorrow due to mum also catching covid. We agreed that it would be safe to cancel the meal and do something when everyone is better. I am negative so I am relieved to be in the clear. My boss messaged me this morning saying she would let me have tomorrow off a...

I understand the UK can’t make singling out people with/without kids illegal but I still think they are taking advantage of me because of who I am and they know I am unusual. It’s neurotypicals making me feel this way. Making me feel like I am the one in the wrong.

Sometimes it can be hard for me to tell whether they are taking advantage of me or not or if it's just me being a drama queen who moans a lot. It's hard to tell or not if managers and colleagues are making me feel that way. Or in other words gaslighting me. We might not even go ahead with father's d...

Why do management expect autistic employees to do everything for other team members’ and everyone else’s commitments? For the past couple of years now I have been expected to do weekends and holidays while most of my colleagues can have most weekends off just because I don’t have children. Plus my m...

I have to use Teams in my job and it’s a waste of time to be honest. No one listens in the chats and not everyone can get into it. We used to have a WhatsApp group chat which I found easier when it came to communication but then management made us switch to teams because they think it’s more profess...

Aspergers445 You do have a point. Some people are understanding and some not as understanding as others. I have been in my job for 5 years now and some people are more sympathetic than others. I feel my self if I do leave my job and get a new one I could face discrimination so I am lucky to have a ...

Has anyone on the autism spectrum felt or feel now that they are being pushed out by their employers? I believe this is one of the most common issues with autism and mainstream employers and it can cause anxiety for the individual because they have to figure out what’s going on. I have been called o...

Yeah, I am. Which is odd because I normally really look forward to it. I like the music and the lights and the food and the sense that there's nothing else you should be doing. It's one of the few times I relax. But I'm not ready for it I've got too much other stuff on my mind. And there's no money...

Does anyone dread Christmas because of the chaos on Christmas Day with being pushed to play games with your family? Having to take turns with presents and show respect to everyone? It’s exhausting! It’s like you have to pretend to be neurotypical in front of your own family.

Anyone relate to this?

I feel exactly the same way. I don’t have that many friends either. And when I see other people like me or NTs or just people I general getting more attention have being more successful or getting preferential treatment I get bitterly jealous because I feel left out. When I am with someone or like s...
