Of course they should have let him in the dance, but mom should have called the school in advance and informed them of her son's attire and the reasons he was wearing sweat pants. Doesn't seem like anyone intentionally wanted to hurt his feelings.

I never had any epiphany that I didn't want kids but at my age it seems unlikely I'll have any.

At times I feel like there is a void because children seem to give parents a purpose in life. I think children also forces people to be less selfish.

"Ear worm" lol. Never heard that before but know what you mean. I try to listen to classical or jazz instrumentals to erase the offending tune and lyrics.
