Well I wouldn't say I am impatient, I do enjoy some virtual LFS but I guess as far as patience goes, I lean more toward having something that is easy to install and maintain, it doesn't have to be completely non technical. Congratulations, I prefer Arch Linux mainly cause the AUR is cool and just its package management in general seems a lot more sane then compiling everything from source. I don't really see much of an advantage to running Gentoo and if I am going to compile everything, I would skip Gentoo and go str...

Congratulations on the wedding and Gentoo too. How many hours to get installed? Ready for LFS next? It was an overnight thing, especially since I had to rebuild packages a few times because I forgot some USE flags. As for LFS I think I'll pass. My Gentoo setup's pretty comfy, especially after buyin...

I suppose there is no advantage if the newer computer games are a big part of your computer usage (some Windows games are supported on Linux by Crossover). What about keeping it disconnected from the Internet (except periodically for updates), and possibly using another computer or another partitio...

In high school, my tiny ass circle of friends called me "Skate Or Die". I have no idea why.

AV software protects you from what came out ten days ago. Common sense protects you from what came out ten seconds ago.

If you don't want to play Redmond roulette every time you update, stick to Win7 or move to Linux. I had Windows 10 Pro on my laptop for a while. The Win10 anniversary update broke so much s**t, and every subsequent update made my computer less and less usable. Every time I mounted an ISO image, blue...

Marijuana should be legalized, and everyone who's doing time in prison for a plant should be released and compensated for being locked away for such a stupid thing. The USA would be much better off if the government ceased to exist. The only thing that would be different is the enormous amount of mo...

Hi, I'm Jesse, and I'm new here obviously. I'm an aspie who pretty much obsesses over unix, its design philosophy and its potential uses. I spend my free time cursing profusely at my Mac Pro, writing code, watching MLP, ricing my Linux laptop, and tweaking my phone. http://i.imgur.com/Y6mCsTf.png An...
