Yes. Fear of finding myself in the same crap years down the line. Fear of not achieving my goals. Fear of others (NT's) sabotaging my goals. I could go on! |

I've seen the first 3 and it is great so far particularly when an autism professional arrives at the house to do an assessment and points out the bickering NT families dysfunctional behaviour patterns that are confusing for Joe (just as they are for any Aspie)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2f6_O... |

Basically, I find myself completely open, socially, when drunk. As I'm sure that many of you do. However, I don't feel it's because of a lack of inhibition, I personally feel that because I become desensitized to the world, I can actually interact with it (and people). Agree/disagree/don't care? Personally, I find it affects me to behave in a bad way to the extent it has been involved in bad decision making and the loss of relationships. I react to it in the same way as some do to food additives. ie weird behaviour. It takes several days to leave my system. Therefore, a couple of beers ever... |

I went through a phase of teenage drinking when I was 14-15 and I can say that it definitely affects me different than most people. Like a couple of other people have said, I became short of breath. I'm not sure why this happened. Once the ambulance was called because apparently my breathing became... |

Going through something like this now. There is a lot of change happening at once, and a pervasive sense that "everything is wrong/upside down". I think I'm overwhelmed/overstimulated. Am fortunate to have a supportive boss, but am very worried about upsetting other work colleagues/teamma... |

Maybe decide what interests you have that you would like to discuss with others and then join up a Meetup group that has the same interests. Don't forget they may not be Aspies so be prepared imo. Don't forget u need the energy to do this and perhaps u don't have it (like me). I mix with NT's and th... |

I think we can be seen and used as the village idiot if we put ourselves in that position with NT's. Even if we have an understanding NT partner, their friends may not share the same attitude and will perhaps see an idiot to be disrespected because we cant play their game very well, especially over ... |

I agree, I've met plenty NTs who had an extensive and profound understanding of the world, warts and all. They often don't wear this knowledge on their sleeve, it's not exactly "socially appropriate" to discuss such subjects except with close friends  (I still remember how decades ag... |

All lives are wasted. We're just here spinning on a dot in space, eating and pooping and growing old. Perhaps some lives are well wasted, and some others poorly wasted? :) Nice insight. The last 12 years have been wasted for me unless what I have slowly learned in that time can bring fruition. I li... |
