Look at the number of homeless men vs women, and at the numbers of househusbands (barely 2% in the most advanced societies) vs housewives - it becomes very obvious which gender is less willing to shelter and support the other, and which gender is more forgiving of the partner's nonworking status. N... |

I don't know if the OP was a troll or being serious, but certainly female hypergamy is a real thing. It's becoming apparent now that more females are higher earners and can't "lower themselves" to dating someone who earns less than them. I find it quite amusing to watch! Well, then clearl... |

I had two good friends in high school, and I was happy around them because they were also single. But my only friend here in college just got a girlfriend, and he's bringing her to do things that just the two of us used to do together. I'm worried that's he's eventually going to blow me off complet... |

I've generally dated guys within +\- 5 years of my age, but provided everybody's a legal adult, age ain't nothing but a number. I deny no one the occasional gorgeous 19 year old, but a steady stream of them from a person 25-30+ elicits giant eye rolls. That said, stage of life matters too. To me, a ... |

Sly - There simply aren't the numbers for all the poor women to get middle class men, outside of the possibility that a lot of women are holding out for such a man (and will never bag one). The sucky thing is that poor men get girlfriends all the time. Their lack of money doesn't stand in the way, ... |

Honestly, I don't understand students on dating sites, as they can interact with hundreds of young people everyday. Online dating works perfectly for the guys and ladies with low self esteem. I tried it out too and even managed to set a few dates via asiandate.com service. Though I still prefer off... |

I still don't understand it and it's odd because I was told I needed to be a gentleman if I wanted a girlfriend. Even when I was told to be myself, it didn't work out. It was always the guys treating the girls poorly who had girlfriends. I remember them physically hazing girls in public spaces but ... |

Men pick which women to message, and the women they message then pick which men to respond to. Women pick which men to message, and the men they message pick which women to respond to. I think one's approach on dating sites depends on two things. 1. What you want. 2. What you want the ones you want... |

I think women would love to get romantic first messages that show a lot of effort, but since hardly anyone actually does that, most women have to settle for what they get. I'd be creeped out by a "romantic" first message. Some dude who knows nothing but my profile attempting written roman... |

I'll never understand people with a sense of humor like that. I'll also never understand the one's that use a lot of mean-spirited sarcasm and direct insults. Verbally and physically bullying and abusing your friends for fun is not just 'playful banter' and 'play fighting'. I see a lot of young mal... |

Think of it like interviewing for a job you're 100% qualified for on paper but don't get. You don't get the job because you aren't qualified, but rather because somebody else is better qualified. I think online dating is a lot like that - you've messaged a girl you feel you're compatible with, but ... |

"Ghosting" doesn't really apply to folks you met online and went out with a single or even half a dozen times, ie person you weren't in a committed and exclusive relationship with. Yes, it'd be preferable and more polite if the one-date girls had the courtesy to decline a second date in wo... |
