I am 17. I feel much younger (13-14-ish). This is probably because I am somewhat socially and emotionally immature. I have never have a boyfriend or girlfriend, or even wanted anything to do with one. I have no interest in shopping or going to concerts or other things people my age do. I get upset ...

My initial impression is that everyone here has quite good linguistic skills, which is a sign of heightened intelligence. I usually only look at my own threads, though.

I've recently made friends with somebody new, and although I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with her, she's on my mind quite a bit. I have a crush on her as well, so maybe it's just that, but I think this has happened quite a few times before. I don't often meet people that I get along with that are on m...

I talk to myself all of the time in private. I thought for a long time that nobody else does, but realised eventually that quite a lot of people do. However, I don't just think out loud. Sometimes I almost speak out my side of hypothetical conversations with people I know, or almost I guess roleplay...

It definitely IS an Asperger thing. And many here share the same feeling with you, even if some aspects are more or less important for them. Just give in "younger" into the search function here on Wrongplanet: you will have many hits that come very close to your problem. I would also say ...

Give yourself some time. I mean which kind of teenage experiences cannot be made later? For some years, I had been regretting, for example, not to have done the dance courses most of our peers did at 14/15, the classmates from my village did not follow them either, and my mother refused to pick us ...

Katie, I suggest you chat to Sly79. Maybe send him a PM and link to your thread. I think you two may have some things in common and can form a good bond. You've explained how you feel pretty well. It's the sense of missing out on your teenage years and never physically being able to get them back. ...

I would question it VERY much. BPD and ASD are confused constantly, especially in women. It is possible to have both but it is extremely rare. Unless you are frantically fearing abandonment by other other people and your identity is constantly shifting on whim with your emotions it is very unlikely...

I've never actually done the appropriate IQ tests. How would I go about doing all of them? For me im doing it as part of an autism assessment. An IQ test isn't diagnostic for autism, but having huge discrepencies in your scores for different areas, is typical for the spectrum. It also allows you to...

One thing I've always struggled with is getting attached to new people I meet. I don't make friends often, so when I do meet people that are on my wave length and that like me, I get a bit too emotionally invested in the friendship. Because anyone I spend any length of time with is kind of my best f...

I've always gotten along better with people older than me, as a kid even. I think that actually at some point in my teens I probably did. There was a time I was just in my shell and only had a personality when either alcohol (which I've now stopped completely) or purely typing online was involved. ...

^^^one eventually learns to no longer give a fig if anybody else thinks of us as creepy. what our own opinion of us matters far more. I know I try to be a decent human. that's all that matters to me. Well, I mean, I've struggled to make friends over the past year or so (I still only have a couple, ...

I know that quite a lot of people with Asperger's tend to look younger than their age. Something to do with not moving our facial muscles as much, or so someone once told me. I do know someone that's 38 who could pass for 25, and if I'm as lucky as her I might not be too bad off. But part of me feel...

Hi. The full title for this post should be: How much should I question my Borderline Personality Disorder diagnosis now that I've been diagnosed with Asperger's? I was diagnosed with Borderline in 2014, quite quickly after becoming involved with mental health services for the first time. Two main tr...
