Wow, Jaina, that's terrible. I've been sooo busy with my first week of teaching as a grad. student, and my courses. But yeah sexual coercion is bad. Mike, don't forget that it's even harder to demonstrate sexual selection in the wild than Natural selection in the wild. The fact that schizophrenia pe...

Ouch. I have that problem to a small degree, people that don't know me sometimes assume that me and my best friend are extremely arrogant and condescending. On his computer right now, I'll write more later but suffice it to say, that it takes practice to talk "down" enough to earn people's confidenc...

Keep at it, don't give up. The more you socializ, eventually, at least some of it will "click" and once you make one new friend, others will follow. But it takes time, takes time and you have to know when to take it easy and keep from having a "meltdown." My internet's fried at home, I'm at my best ...

It depends on what IQ test you take. Mensa's requirement is, I believe, that you score in the 99.8 or higher percentile on any IQ that is approved by them. Most of them it's 130-135+.

Wiki is actually based out of my town and a friend of mine got one of the coveted paying jobs there recently, she said they're craaaaazy about making you check and re-check and so on... mainly to prevent that kind of non-sense. I bet the OP's article was one relating to that stupid "Singularity" the...

Wow, this is such an interesting thread, and I'm soooo tired today, more tired than I normally am as some other members of WP know I will post long posts all night on a good day... But, I just wanted to say Doloras, that your posts certainly read like an AS girl, and perhaps you just have a borderli...

Kiki and others, yeah it sucks not being part of "the crowd." But, hey, as long as you keep trying to learn the rules of engagement, you will learn more and more about how the NT socializing world works. I'm fairly popular now around town, particularly at my coffeehouses and the college, but it took...

People don't tend to like "know-it-alls" but they do tend to love confidence. And yeah, Jaina, it doesn't have to be social confidence in particular, at least for me, that a woman has, but even just being confident of what she's spending her time doing at the present moment, and confidence about her...

Thank for you that other post, by the way, Jainaday, that says exactly what I've been getting at in other posts... I agree totally with what you're saying, so many of these Aspie guys, sadly, aren't confident and then are surprised a girl they didn't pursue much-- surprise, surprise here-- is no lon...

Well, as it turns out, guys that women call "jerks" aren't actually jerks: they're just very confident. Admittedly, some guys are jerks. But as one NT girl said to me, "Well, of course I want a guy that will be in charge, and they tend to be what lame guys call "jerks." I'm not saying women should d...

Aspie1, you're walking right where Natural selection guides you to walk, assortative mating anyone? MikeH106, most biologists consider social Darwinism to be without scientific merit, evolution has been demonstrated on a biological level, but who's to say it applies to societies or cultures? Ecologi...

That's cool Michel, I think the reason women like me more now than ever before is because I'm nice to a point, but rather cynical and have no problem voicing my views. I'm very assertive and I don't mind telling people what I think of them, their views, the world etc. You can be nice AND still be "t...

By the way, I have an ultra-rare bone condition (othofibrous dysplasia) and was denied for disability because I'm "over-educated." I can never get private insurance unless I'm very wealthy or employed at a large company where they have a group discount, and even then many companies won't insure pre-...

Whoever is writing out the checks for your bills needs to contact DCF ASAP and your school's Financial Aid office ASAP and have something in writing prepared for both stating how much they pay, why you don't have any income, how old your two kids are etc., etc. I had to have my mom's lawyer do it on...
