Anyone miss out on boyfriend/girlfriend all through their teen and early twenties? I did. And I haven't been able to get over it. I got a girlfriend at 25, and I was able to put all that behind me . We married, she rejected me. Now it's looking like divorce. I'm 42 now. So back to square one. I knew...

It's recent.

I had a nervous breakdown. But survived.

Coping ok now.

There's been 'too much water under the bridge' and I look back now and I don't see how it would have been different.

I was married at 28. 'diagnosed' at 33/34 but only come to the full realisation of it now at 41.

Sadly my marriage broke down probably due in large part to my AS. I was undiagnosed when I got married. And unaware of my problem. I couldn't communicate with my wife and things became issues. She didn't know I couldn't 'read' her as a person. This got put down to me being self centred. Resentment s...

Do any ADD sufferers have the problem sometimes that severe boredom just grabs you and you cannot overcome it? What happens to me is that it's like a steamroller just pushes me down into the sleeping position and I am overcome with sleepiness. I just have to sleep. Sometimes now though I can recogni...

Hi, I have successfully managed to treat myself so my symptoms are much more in control. But I think back to the days when I would bore people with my specialist subject. I had no idea I was doing it. I didn't realise others were not interested in my specialist subject. For me it was an obsession wi...

Hi, Thanks for your replies. I was using things like varying the amount of eye contact to avoid staring or blanking. Remembering to smile and nod and react positively to others. Asking open ended questions where appropriate to get the other person to talk about what interests them. I could then deve...

Hi, Has anyone else been through the experience of using all the coping mechanisms for interacting with other people but being exhausted by it. I found that I could use these coping mechanisms successfully for about 85% of the people I worked with. But the remaining 15% could see straight through it...
