I'm sorry that it got to that point and that you are embarrassed about it. Try to be honest when they over protect. Tell them how much you appreciate the fact that they care but that you really want to just fit in. They are still going to be concerned but hopefylly not excessively. It's nice that yh...

That seems like a tough call. My OB/GYN has terrible online ratings on her bedside manner, but I find her blunt and to the point manner to be fine if not preferred. The pediatrician that my kids used to go to was rather monotone and low key and I thought he was great but I have heard several people ...

I sleep in a different room but it's my youngest son's room so that won't last. I'm know it has bothered my husband some but I think he's grown not to be offended by it too much. If there were enough rooms for me to have my own I would. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. For years I slep...

I had a big church wedding because that's what everyone else wanted. Really my husbands parents and my mom took care of most of the details, but I still found it extremely stressful. My husband's parents only have boys and I am my mom's only child. It seemed important to them - mostly my in laws. I ...

Yes, unfortunately what you remember qualifies and even if you don't want to confront you need to warn the step sister and step mom. Problem is that it will be easy for the step mom to not want to believe you so you have to emotionally prepare for that. Repressed memories are awful. I hope yours are...

I think it would be kind of a relief to have the dx but I don't know yet. I haven't persued it for myself because we are working on getting my daughter's assessment now. She's on a wait list. For her it will hopefully help with college and life in general to have a recognizable word to put to her ne...

I got a part time job as a direct care aide for local ISLs. In my state they are supported living homes with up to 3 people living there. My position is with a branch under the state department of mental health. It's not the job for everyone, but for me it's a nice fit. I feel comfortable with the c...

Thank you for the responses. They are helpful. I guess on her paperwork I will just have to wait and see how things are worded. I'm sure I'm overthinking it and hopefully they will anticipate a parent of a struggling kid may also have some memory struggles. As for myself I will probably pursue that ...

In recent years she has asked about other possible issues / learning difficulties and since she wants to go to college, and has every intention ...
