Few women autistic or not are okay with being the traditional, submissive wife. Women are just as intelligent and talented as men and deserve to follow their passions and have aspirations in life besides being a wife and homemaker. So, no, you are not unusual in wanting more out of life. Remind your...

Meditation has worked well for my anxiety. Just lie in bed listening to relaxing music (noise canceling headphones work well for this) counting to 500 or even 1000. Everytime a negative thought comes into my head I just refocus on counting. It really helps in the moment to calm you down and over tim...

Teaching can be tough when you first start out. There is a lot more work and stress than most people realize. It usually takes a few years to find your grove. Do you have a mentor? Does your district have a facilitator for new teachers? Is it possible for you to find a part time position, or sub? Ev...

How close are you to the nearest station? Can you take a taxi or get a ride.

There is also a public transportation option on Google maps. It's not 100% accurate but will give you some ideas on how to get where you need to go.

How far away is it from where you live? Is it near a town with a train station or a bus depot? Can you take a train or bus part way and Uber/taxi the rest of the way? I know Greyhound goes to quite a bit of smallish towns.

I would love to be able to speak several languages. My current goal is to learn at least one language well enough to confidently carry on a conversation. It's more difficult then it sounds. Will probably take years to accomplish.

If I had met someone wonderful, I would have been married by now. And in all honesty, if I do meet him in the future, I will probably get married. But, some people never get their "second half" and that's okay. For me, I feel like there is no need to wallow in misery. You can have a very f...

Yes, I am a spinster. After some terrible relationships, I realized I am happier and safer on my own. When I was younger, this was one of my biggest fears. But now, it doesn't bother me.

Retail is much better than fast food, especially if you are in stock or receiving. People will stay in retail, mostly as a side job, for years. Most burn out of fast food within a year. Retail is also more willing to make accommodations for those that have disabilities. Working for a grocery store i...

Things took another dive. My mother is now in hospice. She's taken a big turn for the worst. Don't think she will make it past Summer. Another pet is sick, stressed or both. I still have my job and a place to live. So, a few things are going for me. I'm tired of bad things happening. Would love just...

Wow, I might as well pack it up and buy a bunch of cats. At 5' 8" and 165 lbs, I'm too fat for any guy. BTW, I'm only a few pounds overweight, wear a non plus size and have a flat stomach. Hardly the gigantic beast you describe. Have you ever tried to go out with some of those slightly overweig...

Wanted to add that being in a relationship with someone with erratic behavior will make you feel like you are going crazy.

My ex's dad is exactly as you describe your husband. His mother was in denial and only placated him. Don't want to get into too much detail, but it destroyed the whole family.

Sounds like my ex boyfriend and me. Even more like my ex's family. Neither turned out well.

To be honest, if the other party is in denial about their destructive behavior, the only choice you have is to move on. You need to think and you and your children's mental and physical safety.

Thank you so much.
Good to know I am not alone.
I've been having a bit of a feeling that this will either blow over or the start of something better. A small feeling, of course, have a big pessimistic side.

Thank you
I'm currently living with my parents. It is hard for me to make transitions, getting use to change. I also have a difficult time somewhat accurately determining how situations will turn out. Basically how to react. Tend to over plan, over do. When it doesn't work out well, I fall apart.
